What concerts and performances are you planning on seeing this Summer?

I'll start.

My wife and I will be going to our first concert together in August. We are going to see Diana Krall perform at a local winery. We are both very excited. We'll likely go to at least another or two, but this is the only one we have tickets to so far.

How 'bout you?

My wife and I saw her at a somewhat small venue. We loved it.

We have tickets for Norah Jones in June.

I've seen Diana Krall in concert before.. she's wonderful.. a bit to much of a diva.. but man her voice is smooth and soothing. Drink more wine while there.. then everything will sound that much better. ;)

I am going to see Lindsey Buckingham solo concert in June.. should be amazing.. he's one of the best guitarist I've ever seen perform live. I saw him with FM a few years ago..
    PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

We're planning on going to the Beach Boys next month at a local casino

Whatever comes up that sounds good. Although, now we tend to just stay home and watch concert dvd's instead.

I may be wrong, but I believe their Atlanta date is the only show not sold out on their current tour.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

The Charleston Symphony has a couple of concert in the park dates that look cool.

I also would like to see Shawn Mullins in Atlanta this summer.

    Jfail,

Just got done seeing Tool last night...WOW what an incredible show. Setlist was:
    Jambi
    Stinkfist
    46 & 2
    Shism
    Rosetta Stoned
    PUSHIT!!
    Wings/10000 Days
    Lateralus
    Vicarious
    Aenema

Kinsky opened for Tool....it was marginal at best.

Maynard before Jambi..."Hello Dickheads!!" Maynard after Jambi, "Now THIS is how we do it in Arizona!" Maynard after Lateralus "We need to finish up this set so we can get back to our internet ****. Damn there some freaky **** out there!" Maynard Before Aenema, "This is our last song, I want everyone to drive home safe, and don't *uck a relative! I know your all drunk, but make sure that does not happen!"

This is by far the most I have ever seen him talk in a show, maybe because he was in his home state. Any ways, Danny's arm is definitely healed, and the band was very tight! Laser show was really good, and the lighting was great, especially the background effects.

It will be hard to top this show for 2007.

Wow, what a great set! Nothing from Undertow or Opiate though? Old or not, I'm praying they play 4 degrees, Opiate and Prison Sex at the Richmond show. And you're definitely lucky to see them in AZ! Man, now I'm definitely hyped. The woman doesn't want to go with me, so this may be the 1st show I've ever gone to completely alone. Should be interesting!

Maynard's not from AZ, but he has a pad there as well as Caduceus, his winery.

Speaking of which, Avelanche...do you ever go there? I'm trying to get a few bottles of his wine for the bar, but they can't ship to my state. Let me know what you can do, and I'll hook you up.

If anyones likes their rock a little southern fried. I heavily recommend Drive by Truckers. They have 2 shows that they are touring with this summer "The Dirt Underneath" is going to be a sit down/acoustic set, but they're also performing their rock show (actually probably should spell that "rawk"). I caught them with a couple friends at the Fillmore in San Francisco about a year ago (they were opening for Son Volt who we were there to see) and within the week everyone there had purchased not only their new album but much of their back catalogue as well.

It's everything a rock show should be guitar solos, cigarette smoke and a bottle of Jack getting passed around the stage.

No I know he is not from here....but it was really cool how he makes it feel like home. I think I can get you a bottle or two. I know a friend of mine just had a bottle of it last week, not sure where he got it though. He did not even know it was Maynards vineyard until someone mentioned it to him. Let me do some asking around for you and I will get back to you...if a week or two goes by just PM me with the reminder, I will make sure to hook you up.
