Denon + Rotel Triggers

I'm thinking of trying to find a Rotel RB-985 to go with my Denon 887 AVR. From what I can determine (from a downloaded manual) that Rotel doesn't require a trigger, correct?

According to what I read (detailed specs) on my Denon, it has an "assignable" 12 v(dc or ac?) output trigger. I give up. If it's got one, I can't find it on the back of my unit or in the manual. What am I missing *this* time?

Very small 1/8" jack. 12v trigger is an option not a requirement.

According to the chart there is no 12v trigger for your 887. Perhaps your manual is for more than model and it may show it for another model.

For the Rotel, correct? I don't remember any mention about it when I read their manual.

If it's an option and doesn't have to be used then what does it do? If the amp is off it will turn it on like the main power switch does?

You're correct. I missed the fact that there was no check mark for that feature. Duh...

What kind of plug (AC or DC?) is it and if I need one where would I find it?

So you're talking about a 12vdc rectifier into a 1/8" plug. Got it. Let me guess, the "tip" is "+".

Just something i found which worked with my 991 rotel. As you know the 991 does not trigger. So i bought a unit from http://www.bitsltd.net/ This comes with a 12v lead. The product is fairly knew and it worked. With this power strip i was able to trigger on my entire system through my Sunfire. Just a thought.
