Me too. Amazon hasn't prep my order yet, and ETA is August 2th. Bummer! I can run to BB and get it in 20 minutes flat.

Btw, BB is selling HD-DVD version for $34.99 while BR version for $29.99

Is this a way to promote BR more?

The HD version comes with a regular format DVD also. I don't know why they must bundle them together.

I'm gonna get the Xbox 360 HD DVD player since the price has dropped to 179.99 and offer 5 movies with it, then I'm picking up 300 on DVD. this should be a great one. I didn't see it yet and I have heard nothing but stellar reviews.

    No, it's because the HD-DVD is a combo-disc.

Mine is being prepared to ship still..ugg.. At least it still says "Delivery estimate: July 31, 2007". If I get it Aug. 1st it wouldn't be the worst thing though, I'm not sure how much time I'll have in the next day or two to view it anyway.

Yeah, I watched LOTR strictly for the sound. The SQ for 300 on regular DVD was OK, nothing special. I read a few of the reviews on amazon.com about the SQ on the regular DVD, and some people said the same thing. It must be some sort of conspiracy to force us into buying HD or Bluray players.

I liked this movie, not the best in the world but I enjoyed it a lot more than Sin City. Miller used his "comic Book" feel and plugged into a gladiator type movie based on historical fact. Not exactly how it happened, and a lot of fantasy added but entertaining enough. When some of the "creatures" showed up, my dad said "I dident know you rented Star Wars".

Though one of them looks like my neighbor, I better return his lawn mower quick. :D
