Going under the knife

I've been delaying and delaying about going to an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist for about a year for chronic sinus problems. After my current bout with it, I decided I had enough!

Earlier today, he took one look at my Catscan and said SURGERY! I have a deviated septum and some small growths putting pressure on my sinus walls.

May 9th is the big day! Chop Chop Chop he'll go! Just hope I have a hot nurse in the room before I go to sleep! I want her to be the last thing I see before going nighty night and not the doctor!

John

It's an outpatient surgery that takes about 1 1/2 hours. I'll probably have some good meds for a few days after atleast to alleviate the pain. SWEET! :D

I REALLY need to have this done. I got a sinus cold last November, January and right now. This just ain't right. I've averaged about 3 a year for the last 5years. The Doc also said the bags under my eyes should go away fairly well afterwards. I've had nasty bags under my eyes for the last 20 or so years. I snore like a Wookie also which should disapate quite a bit.

Recent photoshoots you say...ok. I did this last Sunday for a flyer to promote that the club is now selling pizza. Want a slice anyone?

    John,
You lucky a*sh%le. I love surgery for what that's worth. I'm sure you'll feel better after the surgery and it sounds a little like you could be a tad nervous. Understandable and I used to be too. After what must be 10 or so surgeries I have to say they get easier with time. I enjoy them now. I just had another heart attack a few weeks back. Went in and had stints "installed". Loved it before, during (Iguess?) and most of all afterwards. I feel newer than new.

Good luck brother and enjoy the attention.

Shoot, good luck, let me know how bad it is. I had an infection go so far that it crushed part of my skull into my ear (my vertigo issues last year) my septum is deviated to both sides and I'm still holding off on the surgery.

i think I might wait for the "balloon" surgery to become more popular, that is unless this thing goes hella smooth for you...

    Cheers!

This is great to hear. I'm a little nervous thinking about it, but it's comforting to know i'll be out and won't know squat till I wake up.

Good luck Bro, I had surgery done for a deviated septum and some sinus restructuring from breaking my nose a few times. It was quite a few years ago when surgery was still in the stone age. I can tell you this make sure you get the packing out BEFORE you run out of pain meds and make sure the pain meds are STRONG. That effing packing is no sleigh ride. I'm not trying to freak you out just trying to get you prepared with plenty of LEGAL drugs to keep you comfortable.

I'm sure things will turn out well!!!:)

OMG that packing being removed is by far the most brutal 30-60 second on the edge of sneezing out your brain experience........

I had packing removed when I had tear duct surgery as a kid and I ended up sneezing blood all over the doctor's coat and room.........There must have been about 10 feet of gauze in each nostril, but it felt damn good to have gotten that sneeze out..........

    Good luck......
