You think so, blackmax? Maybe so, maybe so.

I would've gotten more power for the components, though. That PDX4.150 is what I'd put on ONE set of components. If I'm reading the specs about it right, it puts out 150x4 into 2 ohms, meaning it'll be putting out about 75x4 into your 4ohm speakers. I have 75 watts running to each tweeter and each mid in my Jeep. While that's admittedly more than necessary, I really wouldn't want less than 50 per component, especially if you're going with something as nice as the SR6500's.

I haven't made up my mind for sure with the rear speakers, but I don't *think* you'll be dissapointed running the MOMO line in the back with the SR's in the front.

I guess the HU is fine...I didn't really look at the video specs. However, it has 2V preamp outputs which, honestly, sucks!. I wouldn't buy anything less than 5 or 6, personally. At the moment I can't remember how many mine's putting out...6, I believe.

I'm also not enamored (sp?) with your sub choice, but if you're not picky about it and are happy with it, that is the only thing that counts.

Anyhoo, even with the nit-picky stuff I'm quarreling over, you certainly have a MUCH better system than stock, and still WAY better than what a lot of people are running for aftermarket.

Here's to hoping you're blown away by it! :)

I might would contact Toxis and see if his SR124DVC sub is still available. Probably a bit more expensive than your Apline you picked out, but boy would it tear it up.

That Alpine amp will be putting out 150 watts RMS in either a 2 ohm load or a 4 ohm load ;).

I myself am only running a little under 100 watts RMS to my components up front, and they sound very nice. The other two channels are going to my rear speakers (really only used when I have passengers in the car).

As far as the voltage..... 2V's should be fine....

Oh, forgot the new Alpines were regulated like JL's amps...come to think of it, I might not have ever known. That should be pretty sweet, then.

I guess my only quibble now, then, is the sub and HU. I still think you need higher preouts.

And thanks for pointing out my mistake, Cody. I looked it up; my HU puts out 6.5V.

Which is still 2.5ish (at least) more than a manufacturer rating of 2V.

Do I have to have a perfect system to voice my opinion?

If so, you should stay out of it. I can't remember the last time you actually had a system.

Ok I gotta tell you guys it sounds SWEEET!!!! I Man those SR6500's are smooth. I can't wait to hear them all broken in.

As far as the sub goes..it's fine I have it turned down but it will definitely boom. They seem to have integrated it very well at the shop. The Alpine amp plays really nice and clear to a volume way louder than I will ever listen for any extended time. It was my understanding that it was 150 at 4 ohm per channel. That's why I got it for the Polks.
Now I just reading manuals and trying to figure stuff out. I pretty much have everything set flat how I like it.
The Momos seem to be just fine doing back up so that is cool too.

Told ya so again! Running down to your local shop and talking to the pros and hearing the gear is always a good way to do things. ;)

There wont be any difference. The amps have a gain on them which sole purpose is to match the head units output signal with the amps input. Higher voltage is good for getting the noise floor up nice and high but from an aftermarket deck youre not going to have a problem. 2 volt preouts will be fine.

Those 6500's will fatten up quite a lot over the next couple weeks. Youll love them more and more!

Excellent choice on gear also! Speakers, amps and everything is top notch!

Quite the nice setup you've got there. I was looking at getting that same 4 channel amp for my momo's but figured 100 would be fine. After all of this godly talk about those SR's I really wish I had a few extra hundred lying around.

No, actually i'm not in a hurry at all. lol. I think I've spent more than enough on car audio. I'm planning on getting an engine swap for my car this summer. Perhaps some other little mods also. Then i gotta save again for school. Needless to say, I've surpassed my budget in the car audio area. lol. However, next summer (or if I strike gold) I'd like to get those SR components. In which case I'll probably also get that same Alpine amp or something similar. I've also been buying stuff for my brother b/c I'd feel bad if I decked out my car and didn't do anything for him. His taste isn't as big as mine so I have no problem doing it.
