^^^^^^^^^Not your usual Sally Ann offerings and both pair look to be in very nice shape. Obviously they're not looking for a quick sale.

Price seemed high IMO. Then again, I have no clue on vintage klipsch.
Used gear seems to be going for crazy prices anymore.
One thing I've noticed at SA is whoever makes up the listings usually takes lots of pictures,
gives the best description they can, and most items are actually tested to some degree.
FWIW, a few years back I bought a vintage receiver off them. I had a few questions on it's
condition. The guy got right back to me, gave me a phone number and answered all my question.
He suggested I spray the pots with deoxit as they we're scratchy.

I sold a pair of close to perfect walnut khorns from 1989 a couple months ago for $2,300 and even at that price it took some doing. No doubt being smack dab in the middle of Tightwadville New England didn't help my cause.

How does a speaker like that end up in Goodwill?
Tax write off (scam). They hand you a slip, you fill in amount..... it just became a 10K+ speaker.... you do not get the slip if you sell them yourself. -
Tax scam probably, really hard to say.
I do know of a guy, who's "unusual" girlfriend donated a bunch of his stuff to a place that was
already sold when he finally figured out where she took it.
I've always wondered where the other gear that had to be a part of any certain set of items, amp, receiver???
The one's at SA look in much better condition.

I've seen quite a few high end amps on Seattle Goodwill's eBay store in the past, but store pickup only.

Yep they had some high end Gryphon audio class A mono blocs a year or two ago. I too questioned at that time who in their right mind wouldn't try and sell them first before dropping them off at GW or SA.
When I dropped off a ton of old clothing at GW of my fathers after he passed and the lightbulb illuminated for me. Mom just donated 5.6 million dollars of dads old clothes..... -

^^^^^^OMG having owned a 2285 I'm thinking one person is smiling from ear to ear while the other person has far more money than brains.
-
No doubt.
I have a 2385 sitting in the closet doing nothing.
-
Money laundering....

Maybe the Goodwill store manager was trying to bait a bidder to bid higher and higher. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

No affiliation. I don’t know anything about this gear other than people on the forum seem to love Musical Fidelity.

^^^^^^Pass. $300 a pair rack system speakers from the early 80's. A good rule of thumb is to stay away from speakers with graphs on the fronts and decorative silver rings. Exception to the rule on the silver rings being the Yamaha NS series.
-
I still have a set of those from high school I use when I work out. Used for FM radio. "Party speakers", boomy bass, they do as intended and help make my muscles bigger.
-
They're good for a garage or background sound and I'd pay no more than 40.00 on a day I had a wad of money burning in my pocket.
They're almost good speakers.
Get a pair of Pioneer Cs-903's (?) for 80.00 or so like I did.
I just saw on eBay, a pr. of 703's for 700.00 LOL There's plenty of better Pioneer speakers than those. I know.
I sold the top pair. They sounded about the same. Not too bad.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

Great; just great; now you tell me.......I've been using the wrong speakers all these years.
-
That red box that's padlocked looks very interesting and mysterious.
I don't believe I've ever seen this end of this room.
Very nice room and stereo indeed. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
