No affil.

Are these any good?

Look like Peerless tweeters?

EDIT: The photo in the ad was taken off the Internet. The actual ones are probably much worse. This seller lists a lot of low to mid-fi on CL. I've never bought from or ever called this seller.

! bought every pair I saw for 20.00 or less years ago.

optimus-7-speakers had 3 tweeter designs I think.

I would NOT pay 75.00 for a pr. now, but that's just me since I've had about 10 pr.s or more. I bought them when they were at Radio Shack. They are GREAT little speakers!

I'm sure they sold MILLIONS of them. Let's see what eBay has them for...

It seems 50.00 to 75.00+ a pr. for nice ones is the range. I don't know...

They do sound good. the ones with that ribbon8-tweeter were special. I had a couple or more pr.s of them too.

I leaned toward the walnut cased ones sound.

If space is of concern, you might want to see exactly what pr. he has. I know he states metal case. But what tweeter is in them?

Nice deal on a pair of fantastic sounding Dynaudio towers. Love these speakers: https://tmraudio.com/speakers/floorstanding-speakers/dynaudio-contour-30-floorstanding-speakers-high-gloss-white-pair/

pglbook

I recently contacted the Seller about the Music Fidelity A308 integrated. He is less than 2 hours from me and has had that listed on the local CL for the past couple of months. Hopefully we can work out a deal. I have heard good things about that unit.

Polkitup2

There's a pair of Polk L200s with a couple small dings on Usaudiomart for $750 that might be worth checking out.

dromunds

I’d hop on those if as advertised. That’s incredible bang for the buck.

Don’t know if it’s a good deal, but Parasound HCA-3500 $1200...

audioluvr

That is as close to mono's as you can get to not getting monos! Run each channel on a separate circuit! This with a good tube pre would be a superb compliment for SDA's! IMHO.

BlueBirdMusic

^^^^
I believe that to be true, audioluvr.

That HCA-3500 really looks good as if it just was removed from the factory box.

Agree.

Great price and, a few weeks back, I made a 2 level rack as proof of concept using cabinet grade maple plywood. Still need to edge band, sand, stain, finish but my wife and I were shocked at how nice it turned out. The threaded rod is a bit utilitarian but for $145 in materials (still have 1/3 of 4'x8' sheet of plywood left), it was an easy afternoon project; solid as hell.

The item FS above could be configured into several smaller racks and endless shelf height's as a result of the rod/nut design. It's worth way more than he's asking if only for materials, finish and labor.

I was swayed to build my own because prices are multiples higher for similar (or much better).

Mine:

scubalab

Jay - That looks darn near identical to the one I built in our HT a few years back. Nice work. Here's mine (with some help from one of my girls)

JayCee

Thank you. Ha, great minds think alike. I just sold that same Panamax, too. I really like your integration in what looks likes a builtin? Clean look and tidy setup.

Nice helper you have there! I have a newly minted grandson that will be pulling "project" duty with me in a few years! Thanks for sharing.

I just want to go hang out in this guy's audio conference room(?). The address is less than a mile from me, if we weren't in a pandemic, I'd give him a call.

****..... i wish!

Clipdat

Maybe he's selling them because of that comically small room they are in.

audioluvr

Well the klipschorns DO take up a lot less space...

Nesmith98

That's an example of when there is no WAF to keep us in check.
