I remember putting together a lower horizontal style O'Sullivan brand cabinet back in the 70's. There was another popular maker of these after O'Sullivan seemed to vanish, can't remember the name though.

If it has been gone through yes that would be close. The TU-919 tuner goes for 500.00 all day in stock shape. Most will then send it to a tuner guru and wait 3yrs for the work to be done at a cost of about 600.00 for the work.

Unfortunately, the tuner is the low end TU-317. If it were a TU-919 I would have grabbed it.

SVS offers free shipping! Although I don't have any first hand experience, I don't see how you can go wrong with one of their sealed box offerings. The price to performance ratio they've accomplished with their subwoofer lineup is hard to argue with.

I'm a bit torn. I've read great things about internet direct subs (SVS, PSA, HSU etc) but I'm tempted to try Rhythmik / servo subs because it tickles my technical fancy. I've yet to come across any in the used market in my <$400 target price range.

I believe Velodyne also used servo designs in several of their subs, they might be more common on the used market than Rhythmik. Just a thought.
