I believe it's caulk. Beginner caulking skills maybe. I'm glad my first experience with caulking was under the supervision of a PRO painter with tons of experience. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

No but they are well regarded Sony speakers. At least one person here had them and raved about them.
They had stands as well I do believe.
Old post but just wanted to add that yes these were designed by ex polk engineer Dan Anagnos. I still have my ES SS M7's and have kept them longer than anything. That's about how I have said I would build my own version of Monitor 7's, except I would also, as difficult as it might be, round over the front edge of the cabinet, especially at the top where the tweeter is. I almost have all the spare parts to build it.George / NJ

Yes. I can’t see the crack he’s referring to. Look pretty minty. Not sure how difficult/involved crossover rebuild would be. I had some RSIIIb that had multiple crossovers but RSIIIa’s were straightforward iirc. Given what’s going on, I would think you could even negotiate with cash in hand

The left speaker's mid-range is cracked around the bottom screw, far away from the driver. Still looks attached, I'd think it's probably only cosmetic.
He managed to take a picture of the wrong speaker, I think. If you open up the full picture you can see it. I'd call $275 a good deal, even if you have to do a bit of resealing work. -
I had the smaller version of these before. Hooked up to a NAD preamp and a TT. It was a spellbinding sound I have been chasing ever since. Good luck. I actually did a search for "speaker stands" and that showed up. I need a second set of stands for the future, so I'm always keeping an eye out. I have "include nearby areas" checked in the CL settings, even though that isn't exactly nearby. I did however make a drive to Nashville a couple years back for some speakers.So Hermit, why are you looking at Nashville CL? I noticed those speakers myself, but they are located down in North AL. -
