    Glad you asked. I was feeling kinda young/dumb for not knowing it.

    I'm very surprised at how fast my current set up came together. I thought it was conpletely out of my grasp but, as others have mentioned, this forum and its members (especially the other two Muskateers) have me very close to what I see as the end goal, ie, Nirvana. I'm a source component away. I heard it in my rig and I know what its going to do. Maybe I'll change out the Power Conditioner & experiment with room treatments but IMO that source got me "there". Only thing in my way is money (or a lack there of).

    (in addition to my sig)

    I'm pretty close to attaining what was my first dream rig...The Legacy Signature III w/ Parasound JC-1 monoblocks. The only differences are source, pre, and room.

    When I first heard the system (and fell in love) the source was an Audio Aero Prima DAC driven by a Sony SCD-1, in my friend's 14x19x8 room. Either the Prima's built-in preamp or a BAT VK-31SE sounded excellent. Currently I'm using a Denon 3910 universal with a Sugden Headmaster pre and sound is actually very similar (bigger differences are due to speakers, amp, room placement/acoustics IMO). I'm going to be trying out a TacT Audio RCS 2.0 which is a DAC/preamp/room correction processor. Hoping that will make the room acoustics effectively better than what I first heard. Treating the 1st reflection points with GIK panels was a big help, but the bass trapping so far doesn't seem as effective as I'd like. The TacT may be able to do something about that; we'll see.

    I haven't yet heard anything that truly bests the Legacy/JC1 system when properly set up...so no solid "dream system" to go to from here...but if I had to guess, I'd build:

    * Legacy Whispers
    * Four Parasound JC-1 monoblocks for bi-amp configuration (ok - 2 will do in a pinch)
    * Latest & Greatest TacT 2ch processor (RCS 2.2.XP)
    * Possibly - Two Legacy Subs
    * Audio Aero's top-of-the-line DAC (Well, ok - a Prima Mk II will do in a pinch)
    * BAT VK-51SE preamp (31SE in a pinch)
    * Custom-built trapagonal room with the "golden ratio" dimensions given by George Cardas here:
    http://www.cardas.com/content.php?area=insights&content_id=36&pagestring=Room+Setup+10
    A solid foundation for the floor would also be nice.
    * Acoustic panels by RealTraps to treat 1st reflection points (GIK work fine, but if we have money to burn...).
    * No neighbors in the vicinity to compain, no matter how loud I play or at what hour.
    Tannoy Dimension TD10, SOTA Star Sapphire, Heathkit W4A's, McIntosh MC2100, Eddie-Current Zana Deux, Singlepower SDS, Sennheiser HD650, Audio-Technica L3000, Sony Qualia 010

    I heard about your trip to that high end joint with Jesse. . . I'm covetous of that also. LOL Man I'm just breaking Commandments all over the place.

    I'll tell you the turntable I want is the SME but the friggin thing costs $22000, it would take me five years to save up for that and there is no guarantee I'll be alive to buy it. LOL!!! What the hell am I laughing at? The chance of finding one in a used market are slim to none.

    waaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! You know it Victor.

    I actually really like the set up I have right now in the WoodShed.

    If one came along I would change the BAT-31 SE for the 51SE but reviewers found them to be very very close, with the 51 getting the edge during very complex ( ie. classical) musical passages.

    I suppose I would change the power supplies to all Shunyata Hydra with the Anaconda Cords I really like the MIT connects I have, but heck I would not mind having Nordost all the way around, might as well go Vahalla but as I have not heard them who knows if they are really better than the MIT???

    I would not mind having a Continuum TT and related equipment.

    gear aside, what I really want is an endless supply of music, millions of records, cd's, open reel tape in a giant warehouse where I could lock myself in, strip naked and howl at the moon, while grooving all through the night.
