I dont know if this question has been brought up yet but. Would it be wiser to spend $200 on a HD player like the Toshiba or 360 HD player?
    The Toshiba has:
*Video Up-Conversion for SD DVD (720p/1080i)
*Dolby True HD Compatible (2 Channel) Audio(I'm not sure if 360 does, at least mine doesn't work)
    *HDMI output
And less wear and tear on your $300-400 360.

Just a heads up on that page.

The first time I clicked on the page it was $299, after a refresh it went down to $209.

Has anyone ordered from eCost? Any issues? I'm gonna try to return the XA1 I got off Videogon that came with unexpected scratches and try to get one of these.

Can anyone confirm that Toshiba warranty is valid and the movie rebate thing as well?

I just ordered one for kicks. If anyone knows of negatives for this deal or seller, let me know and I'll cancel it.

Hope I can get my 5 movies from toshiba! I'm sending them the required stuff (UPC, copy of receipt) and hoping it all works out. If they are authorized, it would have to work, right?

    I thought the 360 did have Vid Upconversion (720p, 1080i, 1080p).

HD Dolby and DTS I thought the 360 does this as well.

360 has component, which if fine by me.

Damn, just read the fine print of the rebate form from Toshiba. Not valid for reburbished, open box, returned products, or demos.

May have to cancel and go with the more legit $399 new one. Damn.

Toshiba HD-XA1 HD DVD player for $209. Damn good deal!

I wouldn't order from them, I just checked and the price went back up to $349.99?

Yeah, they took my order this afternoon then I come back and see it's been cancelled already. Kind of shady. I'm gonna see what I can do anything about it. $249 shipped to my door seemed like a great deal. I was just going to throw it in the bedroom at that price.

    and
edealinfo.com for another $15 off coupon for Buy.com. I am personally not too crazy about the build quality of Samsung DVD players based on an earlier experience with a DVD recorder. However a BR for under $500....
