Ok, I'm sure we all like a great buy on something we have been wanting for a while. So in light of that I am starting this thread and going to try and do a deal of the day or a deal of a few days in it.

Anyone can post, just make sure you put what dates the offer is good for, the price + shipping, and how much you are actually saving.

AND JUST MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GO BROKE SAVING MONEY!
(i.e. buying everything you don't need/want)

Here is the deal of the day for 3/14/07:

Sharper Image has their 6-Piece Cutlery Set with Fanned Block #JH100 on sale for $19.95 down from $89.95.

Here is the link for the product.

Shipping is $5.95.
High-carbon blades are fully forged (not stamped or rolled) to hold their razor-sharp edges for a long time.
For balance and strength, each tang extends inside the full length of the handle, secured by two rivets and a steel end-cap.
Distinctive all-wood storage block is fanned for quick, easy access.
Stainless steel blades have a high chromium content to resist rust, stains and corrosion.
Set includes 3" paring knife, 5" utility knife, 8" slicer knife, 8" bread knife, 8" chef's knife and sharpening tool.

Total Price: $19.95 + $5.95 = $24.85

You save: $95.90 - $25.90 = $70.00

Is that better than this Ginsu set?

    http://www.amazon.com/Ginsu-International-Traditions-14-Piece-Bakelite/dp/B0006TJ7HM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/103-2285757-0419824?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1173907041&sr=8-2

EDIT: Eh...maybe we should create another thread for questions and stuff so we don't muck this one up with all that...too bad I thought of that AFTER I posted...

Eh it's ok to talk in this thread.....Ill just make it bold when I add a deal.

I would yes, the Sharper Image are better since the Ginsu are serrated. Not to mention it seems like you get much larger sized knives. Also, the nice thing about the sharper image set is that the blades go all the way to the end of the handle and riveted through the whole thing.

You can get 10 reams(5000 sheets, standard "case") of Xerox(nice stuff) for $16 shipped.

Add quanity 10 of this Xerox copy paper to your cart as well as this $.49 filler(to hit the $25 mark)

Ordered the knives. . . passing on the paper as I can just snag that at work :)

Great thread! Can't contribute too much at this point besides some stuff on Amazon, but not deal of the day type stuff.

They do have Senn HD-580s for half off, $124.99, which I think is a deal.
Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand
Bedroom: Samsung HPR-4252, Toshiba HD-A2, HK 3480, Signal Cable, AQ speaker cable, Totem Dreamcatchers, SVS PB10-NSD, URC MX-850

Yay, first one to bite on a Deal of the Day! Let us know what you think when they arrive. What kind of shipping did they offer for $5.95?

Standard ground, so I guess 4-6 days since it's in stock.

I have three year old knives that have sucked since the day I got them. Glad to pay the grand total of $28 to not have to deal with mine or sharpen them ever again. I think I dull them more and more with every sharpening attempt.

Monster Cable is good stuff, right? Just overpriced, you say? How about getting 70% off?

    Monster Cable Z-Series Z1 10 ft/pair speaker cable (terminated with spades) @ 70% off

Monster Cable Z-Series Z1 10 ft/pair speaker cable (terminated with banana plugs) @ 50% off

I have seen these at $100.00 for 10 ft pairs @ my local Good Guys chain before they went of business (purchased by CompUSA, which is also going out of business). These are not your regular old Monster Cable.

Well we shall see, i just ordered the Sharper Image set also. The Ginsu say they never need sharpeening, and also say that they're riveted all the way through as well. I like the block color ot the Sharper Image better, but the Ginsu also comes with a few more knives - I'll probably end up keeping both.

The Office Depot math doesn't work out...

The link to the $0.49 thing doesn't work. When I try to buy any other small item to get over $25, I'm getting hit with $7.95 shipping.

How do you avoid the shipping charges????

I'd do this.. we home school. But I can't get it to work...

It works for you because the original price per ream for you is $5.59, so 10 of them is over $50, so you get free shipping.

For ME, the original price is $3.19 per ream (????)... so I don't hit over $50 to begin with, so I get hit with $7.95 shipping.

And, yes, it is the same item number. Prices vary by location....

edit: sale price on the paper is now $2.49 per... so you don't need the coupon, but the result is you don't get free shipping. Oh well.

are you sure you are using the correct paper? Why is mine $5.59 and yours $3.19....can't be the same.

It is the same. The retail price that comes up, AND, whether or not the items are in stock depend completely on the zip code you enter.

If I use my zip code, price is $3.19, in stock, can't use the coupon.

If I put in my father-in-law's zip... retail price is $5.59, backordered.

The coupon deal, reams for $2.49, is advertized very obviously on the front page of the web site. But because the original retail price doesn't get me over $50, the shipping is added on....

    oh well...
