You should check out Crackdown. They have a co-op mode where you can just join your friends single player game as long as they are on live and have it set that way. I think it's kind of cool.
All I know is that Unreal Torunament III is coming out for both systems really soon. I'll probably be playing that game for months on end. Love that game.

Hmm...hope I don't have the same problem. I only ever played UT on PC myself.
If they have clans and the game controls don't suck, we'll have to form one for CP. -
UT on consoles has historically sucked balls. The 360 and PS3 should have the nuts to do a decent job of it for a change though. My concern is that UT has always been a very fast shooter, and that speed might get lost in a controller's handling.

That's kinda where I was going with what I said,if i'm not mistaken the pS3 came out in one color and so did the 360,I know it's the companies option to come out with designer colors, and wasn't trying to start a game war,it just seems that microsoft making this adjustment at this particular time might look like to some that they are either second guessing their marketing strategy or playing catch up.I love both consoles no matter what color and will keep both and there will always be competitive debates and arguments on which has more to offer and why we like the other over the other,it didn't sound like cheddar was making negative comments, just a fact.It didn't sound like anyone was warring here until demi's comment came about.LG 50 in. Joelsbass wrote:So how many times does it need to be pointed out that the third party developers got the development kits and started making these games within a couple months of each other? Gears of War and Resistance had the same development cycle.
Is that your standard cut and paste response to the suggestion that having a production console out for an entire year with game companies releasing games and learning from each release would help them improve games? As microsoft well knows, there's nothing like releasing a piece of software before the public to kick your 'beta testing' into high gear, lol.
As for resistance, I've played the demo, but I don't have the game yet. I'm using the ps3 as a blu-ray player until the second gen games come out. GOW rocks. -
BIZILL wrote:not copying sony by any means. and fyi, i'd love to have a black 360. but then my hd dvd add-on would miss-match. everything i own is black and silver, even my underwear.
Agreed, I'd love to have a black 360. It goes better with my audio components. It certainly isn't worth getting a whole new 360, though. And consoles usually want to differentiate themselves from each other. But, who knows, maybe MS marketing got the idea that Sony knew what it was doing with its color scheme. But I certainly didn't bring this up to argue endlessly over this. So let's just agree, it's a purty color choice...ok? -
I like the Black 360 - Im glad I waited...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Demiurge wrote:I wonder when Cheddar and Scottvamp are going to get over their obsession of constantly making backhanded comments about the 360 at every turn. I don't see anyone doing that to the PS3. They're both out now. Shut the **** up and enjoy your goddamn systems. There's no war here for gaming fans, only in your narrow little heads. These types of threads are getting so incredibly old.
Yes, we don't have to read them. But, unfortunately the comments come into nearly every thread about a 360 game, or when someone has a question about it. Hell, even in the Guitar Hero II thread we actually had the idiotic comment made that it shouldn't be purchased for the XBox 360 because the PS2 had it first and is established on that platform.
I mean, are you guys really this dumb?
Dang,
I take off to LA for a weekend and this is where this thread goes? Demi, I respect you too much to get into a pissing contest with you. I think I've read more than one post from you where you slip in something like, "Return your ps3 then...;)" or something else when you hear someone asking questions about it or who just recently purchased it. You've got every right to make your "backhanded" comments. I certainly haven't flamed you over your opinions. Why so hostile against vamp and me?
This is my thread. I thought people would be interested in the new 'rumored sku'. If you aren't, then please take your hostility to a thread that you think has been unduly highjacked. I don't remember even reading the guitar hero thread much less posting that comment. So I'm not sure why you're accusing me of stupidity for something I didn't even write...but if you need to vent, maybe you can start your own thread...something like the I hate people who say something positive on the ps3 or negative on the 360. Seems to be the jist of your criticisms anyways. I think so little about the current line-up of ps3 games that I haven't even bought any yet as I'm working my way through the 360 ones I have. But I'm sure as heck not going to blow sunshine all over the 360 just 'cause someone says to. We all have opinions. Except for this one, I respect most of yours even if I don't necessarily share them. -
Cheddar, do you really want me to go through this thread and cut apart your sarcastic posts?
If you read this thread, I'm hardly the only one calling you out. I'm just the only one not being subtle about it. Your existence here on this forum seems to be Blu-Ray and PS3 while constantly slamming HDDVD and XBox 360. WE GET IT! Now move on. -

No, those aren't the only things I post on. Those do seem to be the only things that trigger this reaction in you. Unfortunately for you, others, including myself, will have diverse opinions on both HD formats and game consoles. If we're only allowing comments that are positive for HD-DVD or the 360, I believe that would be a great disservice to people who come on this forum and actually want to read diverse opinions and decide themselves what's best for them to buy.
Like I said, I haven't flamed you for your comments about the ps3 and blu-ray since last year. You very clearly think that both are overpriced and at least last year you didn't think either had a future and you were very quick to point it out. Now that blu-ray movies are selling well and sony's stock hasn't tanked since the ps3 release, you seem to have mellowed in your comments.
But all I'm doing is making comments about what I think about the consoles. You're the one trying to elevate this discussion to some sort of war. If you feel the need to pick apart my comments go ahead. But I'm not really interested in getting into a flame war with you or anyone else. So I most likely won't respond if that's all it seems to be. -

Nope, no cut and paste here! I guess I misinterpreted what you meant in your statement 'cause I've seen a lot of people trying to say that Gears had an extra year of development time over Resistance and that's where the difference between them comes from. Your argument makes some sense, seeing the application of other games could definitely lead to some tweaking they might not have though of otherwise. I just wanted to make sure it was understood that Insomniac and Epic each had their hardware and started production at about the same time and the vast majority of the difference between them come from what each development team was able to get from said hardware. Not to mention that I've heard numerous developers state that Microsoft has a much more versatile development kit on the software side, and that the 360 is easier to program for.
As far as this whole little Demi-Cheddar war here is going on, I have one thing to say to both of you... None of us want to hear it! so shush!
It's a shame about sega, I still miss my dreamcast... that system had a lot of potential, and some really fun games... Grandia 2 is still one of the best RPG's I've played... Chrono Trigger being the best...
As far as the whole color thing goes it makes little difference to me 'cause as soon as I find a way to do it without voiding my warranty my whole 360 is getting airbrushed to look like the picture, probably a slightly darker shade of green though...

You're still not getting this.
I never said you can't ever bash on a product line, and last I checked I have no authority to say otherwise.
What gets incredibly old is hearing it over and over again from the same tired voices. I would feel the same way about some idiot senselessly bashing Sony, PS3, and Blu-Ray. It's not your support of PS3, Sony, or Blu-Ray -- it's your constant side comments. This thread is thick with them, and so are the rest.
Bose is one of those products that's none too loved around here. Think if we had constant threads about it people wouldn't say something? You and Scottvamp stick out like sore thumbs when it comes to brand bashing. Like I said, we get it!
I never bashed Sony. As a person who runs a business, I have a keen interest in business decisions on this scale. I questioned their price point and their ability to sustain themselves in this market because of it. It's still way too soon to tell which way it's going to go. For the sake of gaming, I want them to succeed. I'll be adding to that by buying my own as soon as I see what I am looking for from Sony -- exactly the same as I did with the 360.
Post all the PS3 and Blu-Ray threads you want, just keep the constant drum beat of childish comments to yourself, please. -
So... did Sony invent black or not?
I just heard Ford will be suing Toyota for making vehicles with 4 wheels, just like they do. -

Nope. The head designer at Micro$oft said to himself "Hmm... Sony's PS3 is black, therefor we HAVE to make a black one to compete. If only my pea-sized brain were smart enough to figure out WHY they chose black. Oh well, its a good thing I can just copy Sony and I don't have to think up anything myself."

Atari, black with fake wood trim. Now that was a classic. But I liked my Sega genesis the best as far as black and chrome consoles go...

I thought the Sega Genesis was black and red...I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I think the door was red, but I remember some of the lettering being in a metal finish. Could be remembering it wrong. That was a long time ago. But I loved that machine. It was the king of add-ons. I even brought back a mega-drive (japanese version) from Japan with the cd attachment.

I built quite a few computers. But it would be really nice to have your airbrushing skills. I've got the internal lights/side window thing going, but it's still a black thermaltake case. Are you going intel or AMD?
* Ducks as the intel/AMD fanboys come out... *
Seriously, I've never had so many of my comments scrutinized so that people can stand and be offended. Go ahead, have at it. I'm out.
Anyhoo. I used to be AMD all the way. But the new dual processors from intel seem to have closed the gap...
