They will send two packin' next week, though, and votes for this week will be tally-up and add to next week votes. My bet are Chris and Lakisha...
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I felt ripped off! What a cruel thing to do to Jordin - to make her think she was gone. & To yank their audience around like that - a lousy gimmick!

    Crumby deal!

Meh, there was a lot of criticism going into last night about how you can juxtapose a night of charity with a night of booting someone off, so I think it was more in response to that than in response to who got voted off. There have been plenty of seasons where the "best" was kicked off before the finals. Hell, even last year. Between Taylor Hicks and Katherine McPhee? I'll choose no one, thanks.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

C'mon folks, it's television. This stuff is scripted. Gotta keep things fresh for the ratings. Now everyone's gonna be watching the show next week.

BTW -- Jordin should win the whole thing. She's a triple threat -- talent, looks, and personality. Besides, she's young and malleable, a producer's and marketer's dream. I didn't see the show last night, but I don't believe she got the least amount of votes, either.

are you talking about Melinda or Jordan??? Both are amazing singers with amazing control. The better of the two IMO won tonight though. :D

No, Melinda had a good voice. And I don't have a thing wrong with my hearing... and my opinion is backed by a professionally trained vocalist who lives in my house... Jordin continually went off key, and had poor control of her voice... that's why I'm surprised she won. Never once, in all the songs I've heard her sing, did she blow me away...

But to each their own... and that is my humble but deadly accurate opinion... :D

Ha! My DVR cut out as they were opening the envelope. Way to go overtime, Fox!

I liked Jordin, I think Nightly and his trained vocalist are wrong on this one. There were some "trained vocalists" during the auditions too, if I remember... ;)

Melinda definitely had the better voice, but Jordin had more star power, and a bit more relatability for the audience, which is what matters I guess.

The winner is really irrelevant though, as shown by recent years, early castoffs often do better than the "winner".

Not surprisingly, Jordin won. She deserved to win. Of course, Melinda had more talent, but that's not enough to win. I'm happy for Jordin because she's young and will improve greatly over the next few years. However, her first CD will sound like ****. Not her fault, just the sound of commercialism.

Kinda liked Gladys Knight's performance, too. After nearly 50 years in the business, she can still sing circles around these youngsters.

Unfortunately, my wife was addicted to this show and I was occasionally in a position to actually have to listen to some of them sing. More often than not they were singing something they had no business trying, their arrangement sucked and they were not very good. I don't own anything recorded by an "American Idol" participant...and seriously doubt I ever will.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...............neither do I, however, most pop singers have a half tone deviation either way from perfect pitch, enter Alison Krausse.

I saw Tony Bennet sing, sure he was not perfect, but he still has IT, whatever, IT is. For the whole show of 2.5 hours I tivoed it and watched 10 minutes, still missed who won as the tivo cut off like some others here mentioned.

I'm going to branch out here and assume, just like you, that you weren't meaning Her as in the girl in my house, when you called her a loser...

And as Shack said, Jordin's gonna suck for a while, and maybe she'll grow into her voice sometime... maybe. (Ok, Early said this not Shack... my bad.)

I thought Jordin was terrific, especially when she launched into her upper registry. Her version of "Broken Wing" gave me major goosebumps. & I don't recall any of the judges taking her to task for being off key. That chick can sing and she'll only get better.

Though I loved Melinda's voice and, for a while, wanted her to win, I began to find her voice a bit boring, with every song sounding the same.

Reading the comments here, you sure see how we all have different opinions! Different strokes...!

Jordin should at least get better and mature I suppose. I thought Blake was more entertaining and fun to watch. Right now if any of them were singing locally I would only step out of the house to see Melinda. I did download Daughtry's album from I tunes and it aint half bad for a first effort. It has some great running songs that make me go faster!:)

Here's a link for some food for thought:

I also like that the week Jordin was voted off, they suddenly decided that nobody would get booted, due to "Charity week." I call BS!

    From my wife's blog:

And, since this is my site and I can say what I want, I have to
complain about this last American Idol winner. Melinda was the best singer,
hands down. She was always in tune, and everything she sang sounded
good. Lakisha was the 2nd best, and Jordin was the 3rd. I've felt
anti-jordin for a while now because all everybody could do was harp about
her being 'only 17'. As if that's a good reason for her to be the
winner. She was much pitchier than the other 2 girls, and 'shouted' more
    than Lakisha ever did.
I was hoping Blake would win. I think he's a much better performer,
even if his vocal skills weren't top-notch. I believe he will have a
much more successful career than Jordin, in spite of losing to her.
I'm sure you were all dying to know my thoughts on the matter.
    So there you have them.
