Is it just me..or do the guys really stink so far? With the exception (maybe) of Jack Osbourne's semi-talented doppleganger and the JT look/sound alike, this is starting out to be least talented Idol yet. I hope the girls do better.....

I agree, the guys kinda stink. I thought the last guy was OK, the beatbox guy had potential. I really had high hopes for Sundance Head or whatever his name was, I don't understand why he's been so **** since his audition, which was fantastic.

That Indian kid should just admit he's a girl. I really hope he gets voted off soon, I get igged out just looking at "him."

Jack Osbourne guy will go far on attitude alone, a la Taylor Hicks.

The rest were forgettable to me.

BTW, this is season SIX, isn't it?

Sundance was SO good in the audition, and has just sucked more and more as time has gone on! I mean... Knights in White Satin?! Seriously?! How can you be that out of touch with what your strengths are.

I would have much rathered they had kept that tall black guy with the curly hair that was in the room with Sundance when they were picking the final 24. I thought he did much better, much more consistently.

the g/f couldn't agree with you more here. She loved that guy and he was cut to put on Sundance who yes was great in his audition but has slacked big time since. Guess it helps to have a famous singer for a father...

So far, the guys are eeeeeeehhhhhhh at best. The only ones who have good voices have no personality or stage presence. The ones who are better performers couldn't sing their way out of a Shatner movie.

definitely the year for the women. Hopefully by time there are 5-6 left, it'll be all women going by this so far. Nothing racial but the black girls this year are the only ones with real talent. The second to last girl was the only white girl with a set of pipes IMO. There was one other that could hit amazing notes but she had WEIRD notes down low and you couldn't understand her. The black girls held it down and I think we'll have another power voice win this year (unlike last year).

Agree with Toxis completely. The first girl (with the short hair), the backup singer, and the very last girl were all incredible.

And not to be mean, but if people vote based on looks rather than talent at all.... I'll stop watching. That stupid brunette (Antonella) couldn't sing a lick, if she's still around next week, America is retarded.

I kinda dug the girl with the red highlights and the short black hair but I have to agree that I think one of the black girls will win this year.

Ok, this is the first time I have ever watched this show. In reality the only reason I decided to watch it this season was so that I would have something to talk to the women at work about. Call me shallow. *sigh*

Anyway, I am totally digging some of the music. All the jazz, blues, and R&B that have been sung by the ladies have caused me to research these original artists and is ending up costing me a fortune in new music. Just to mention a few of the artists CD's that I have bought lately include Aretha Franklin, Diana Krall, and Roberta Flack.

Heck if that contestant, Lakisha Jones, made a CD, I would buy that too.

Somebody stop me! Or...give me some more women artists that have some slow blue'sy music.

    :D

    ^shallow. haha

LaKisha Jones did perform the hell out of that song but I'm not going to start tweaking her nipple just yet. I wanna see if she can sing other genres and if she has what it takes to win the competition. I vote no. Look at Mandisa last year. She was better than any of the competitors this year and (other than Kathrine) last year as well but her looks ended it for her. Oh well...

I was kidding about the "What's American Idol"...although I don't ever watch it. But, for what it's worth, the girl that got bumped for forgetting the words (Bailey Brown) is from Krum, TX...where I live. She's a talented girl. Too bad she didn't remember the words. Simon actually liked her! lol

Soooo about tonight. Where to start. I'll just list everyone and give my lil opinion. Don't worry, I had to go to the website to get their names because I don't know them all.

Nick Pedro - Go home! You're not good and you totally ruined a great song for me. Last year, Paris BELTED that song and made it hers. You karaoked it.

Jarod Cotter - Good voice, not a great performer and makes weird faces when he sings. He'll stick around but hopefully not long.

Chris Sligh - I love this kid. Great original voice and knows what he's capable of. Great show of range tonight as well. (plus, hot wife!)

Brandon Rogers - UGH! HORRIBLE! Hopefully he'll be going way. He's eeeeehhhh and has yet to impress me. Go home.

Blake Lewis - Nice voice, good performer, nice beat box/scat mix. He'll be around till the top 12.

Sanjaya Malakar - Man this kid has a phenomenal voice but no confidence or presence. Unfortunately, he'll be going home this week even though he's one of the smoothest male voices this year, he's just too young.

Sundance Head - Finally, showing off what he can do. Great voice but won't have what it takes to get into the final 4 unless something changes.

AJ Tabaldo - Maybe I don't get it but he's good but not great to me. His movements make me think he is a drag queen but his voice is decent at best.

Chris Richardson - Again, I don't get it. He sounds like he wants to sound and act like Justin Timberlake. He's ok but more of an impersonator than anything original.

Finally Phil Stacey - By far the best male on the show right now! Great voice, doesn't show nervousness, moves around and doesn't try to hard. He just gets on stage and does what he does. Definitely my pick of the year for best male vocal.

My picks to leave this week - Sanjaya and Brandon. (But i want Nick and Brandon to go).

That's how I see it! You guys?

Nice assesment! I agree. Chris Sligh - great voice, good entertainer and doesn't fit "the mold." Unfortunately, might work against him though.
Blake Lewis & Chris Richardson will be around. Phil Stacey was great. At least the guys picked it up a notch!

I mostly agree with you Toxis, with some slight differences, here's my "rundown" :

    1. Phil Stacey - Did he really sing "Missin' You"? I mean, seriously. Kind of a girly song, I really wasn't impressed at all, luckily for him there were way worse performances... plus he'll get the military vote. I like him, but just think the performance was mediocre.

    2. Jared - "Let's Get it On' was kind of a cheesy song choice. I personally think his voice is kind of whiny. Especially on a song like that, that's so low, there really shoudln't be any whininess to your voice.

    3. AJ Tabaldo - I just don't like this guy at all. I don't think he can sing, and he has the charisma of roadkill. Just all around awful.

    4. Sanjaya - I can't say enough bad things about this kid. He's only made it this far because of that stupid "Vote for the Worst" website. Seriously, just looking at him makes me uncomfortable. What was that outfit? He looked like Michael Jackson, not someone you should aspire to be right now. He mumbled half of that silly "Steppin Out" song. Absolutely no emotion or force. And how do you dedicate a song to your grandmother who died when you were FIVE YEARS OLD?! I don't remember a damn thing from when I was five. My grandmother died when I was four; I'm sure she was a wonderful woman, but I certainly don't remember her. And I have plenty of living relatives I could dedicate my performances to. Seriously, this kid has to go.

    5. Chris Sligh - Wow, did that kid marry up, huh? I guess there's hope for fat funny guys after all. I love the song "Trouble". He didn't do too bad with it. Coulda used a LITTLE more emotion, if you ask me. The whole thing about that song (and all of Ray LaMontagne's songs, really) is that they're very rough around the edges, and I thought this was a little too refined. Still one of my favorites of the night, though.

    6. Nick Pedro - representin' Taunton (Massachusetts). Dedicating to your girlfriend is a little cheesy, hope it's serious buddy. Seems like a yearbook girlfriend shoutout to me - you'll be regretting it in a year when you break up. Anyways, "Fever" was kind of a goofy song. He just sounds like a lounge singer to me. His voice is cool and all, but, like I've said a few times, there's just no power or emotion behind it. Maybe I was spoiled by all the black girls with the soulful voices last week, but... c'mon man. Belt something out.

    7. Blake - Virtual Insanity. Great song choice for him. He seemed to not be able to keep up with the song, but other than that, I actually disagree with Simon and think he did a good job with it. Even his goofy beatboxing kinda worked.

    8. Brandon - I love how Simon called him out for really digging in on the sympathy vote. I mean, the point of dedication night is the sympathy vote, honestly, but you can't go overboard with it. Especially after singing TIME AFTER TIME. Holy God. If it weren't for AJ and Sanjaya, I would definitley want him gone just for that one **** song. Blech.

    9. Chris Richardson - THe only song of the night I ddin't know - apparently it was a Jason Mraz song - but I thought it was pretty good. I really can't find fault with it at all. Not my cup of tea, but if people are into it, I can see them liking him.

    10. Sundance Head - I like Sundance a lot, and I have no idea why. He hasn't been good since his audition... until tonight. He picked a great song for him (although, MAN is that song repetitive). But, I gotta say.... I'd tell American Idol to go screw if I had a newborn son at home whose first few months of life I was missing. Warped priorities much? Holy crap.

Sanjaya and AJ would be my two to go home if I had a choice.
