LSi9's Rock!!
I got a chance to listen to some Polk LSi9's today at a home theater showroom and man, they sounded awsome! I love the sound of the vintage Polks (SDA, RTA, Monitor series) but after listening to what these babies can do, I just got all wet! A lot of sound from a small "bookshelf" size speaker. It's almost like the vintage Polks have a warm, soft sound, and these new LSi series have a tighter, crisper more detailed sound. I just wished I was able to listen to some of the larger towers, but hey, the LSi9's were worth driving 100 miles to listen to. Guess I'm gonna have to consult the piggy bank! (about 950 bones/pair)

www.brandnamez.com sells the LSi9 for $630 per pair. I ordered my LSi9's from them. No problems whatsoever.:)Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country! -
I actually bought them at the store and took them home. Frankly, the demo wasn't that impressive (the guy was doing A-B with the 7's). It's a big audio room and he had them cranked to the point of harshness. But I went ahead and got 'em based on all the rave reviews, and the fact that I guess I'm a true Polk guy at heart. Paid top dollar (over a grand with tax) for the cherries. He told me two things: 1. That they'd sound better when I got them home and 2. That they'd be heavier than I thought they were. He was absolutely correct on both counts. These little guys have some HEFT. And they are extraordinarily beautiful. And the sound? I am still amazed. I just bought them last night and they're still breaking in, although I could detect a smoother response after only two or three hours. Everything about the 9's is impressive.....drag out the old standby adjectives. They are smooth, transparent, whatever words you want to use. The bass response is a huge surprise. I am listening to most music today without the sub. Jazz trio in particular is an incredible experience. I guess I was a tad concerned about driving them, even with my Outlaw 2150 (yes, I am one of the five lucky guys who actually owns one, ha ha), but it makes them absolutely sing. Still can't get the volume knob past 10 o'clock. These speakers are, well, classy to look at and equally classy to listen to. Sound is paramount, of course, but I can't stress enough how physically beautiful they are.

What is your opinion of the RR2150?Signature goes here -
I absolutely love it, especially at the price. Great performer. Real solid build, looks terrific, LOADS of power. It's a bit odd that it's been out of production for so long, though. I felt sure that they'd have them available in time for the Stereophile cover, but apparently not. I don't know if it's a part shortage or factory trouble in China or what.
But it's worth waiting for, that's for sure.
Click on January here, it's my review in our audio e-zine.

Can't think of anything close for the money -600 shipped with sequential serial numbers (ebony). Oh, the bass hits harder, quicker, and is more controlled after 100 hrs in my case. Even my girlfriend is stunned by them.-Ignorance is strength -

But is strange. The Monitor Line (I have it) is more cheaper. The Monitor 50 speakers (pair) MSRP: U$S 560 or Monitor 30 (pair) MSRP: U$S 280.
The RTi 12 (pair): U$S 1.850... LSi are far expensive...My current new system (step by step )

Glad you got to hear them. Around here the LSi series can really only be listened to in very few select botiques if you get them to special order them in, which makes it a difficult sell for some. I'm just glad I snatched my 7's when I could.
What else did you get to hear? What were you running them off of?
