LOTR in my living room is between -22 and -18 or so. LOTR is DTS 6.1 and has about the best recording I have heard yet. Next is Star Wars with 5.1ex.

-22 in a small apartment and my -18 to -16 in my livingroom that opens to a breakfast room in the back. From those references , I guess my H/K is working ok.

What did make a difference, and surprised me , was I unhooked my Hafler and allowed the H/K to drive the fronts. It opened the stage alittle better, I was surprised, I always thought my old Hafler DH-200 was a perfect amp for the Polk's. I guess the H/K is alittle better.

And it also depends on the output of you DVD player. Thats why I used the test tones on the AVR for measuring.

yeah, I added bridged TFM-6CBs to power my Monitor 60 towers since they are 200wpc into 8 ohms. But, I'm not sure (other than the numbers and a little more on the low end) they are what you would call drastically different.

I had my B&K st-202 on the fronts for a while, it seemed to make a pretty evident difference.

I think the only difference it would make in my case, is if I were to go tube or, >200 watts per channel. But over 200 watts for my Polk's would be over kill and I think I could damage them. I think the Hafler 100 watts per channel and the H/K are about the same.

I am interested to see what you and others had measured at 1 foot. How high volume level has to go on the 635 to get 80dbs.

I know it wouldnt mean much, but it would be fun. And it would show the efficientcy of other speakers.

If I find the time to buy/borrow an spl meter, I'll do it and post my results.
