I have poked around in the forum occasionally and finally decided to join today. After seeing so many familiar faces around here from the Carver forum, I am glad that I did. I hope this forum is as fun as the Carver Audio Forum is. :D

Welcome! Some day, I'll try out a Carver amp in my system... but for right now, I'm sticking w/ my budget Adcom :). After hearing George Grand's Carver gear, I was very impressed.

My skin is pretty thick, most of the time I am the one who ends up offending. I am looking to broaden my horizons audio wise, and this looks like a good place to do it. I am fairly sure I will manage to offend a thin skinned soul here at some point. I Look forward to being here for a while.

I now have three M400t amps, a C-1 pre, a C-19 pre, A S/D-A 490t cdp, a Sunfire TGP 1, a Marantz DV-8300 DVD player, two pairs of Tannoy PBM8 monitors, a pair of Tannoy System 8 monitors, and a Sunfire Super Junior sub. It is all wired up with an Analog II setup from Signal Cable. I have a Magic Power cable for the sub, and Signal power cables for the processor and the dvd player. I have a samsung 50" dlp to tie it all together. Oh yeah, I almost forgot about the pair of B&W 600i's that I am using as a center channel of sorts. Oh yeah, directv DVR, the HD one is on order. I think that about does it. Not bad for being 24 huh? lol

BTW, Bill, I just noticed you are a serviceman. . . THANK YOU and God Bless You!

When you get to Villanova if you get some time give me a call I'd like to shake your hand and have you over. I just moved from Philly (you made a spelling error in your message to my buddy George LOL) to Newark Delaware so the ride from Nova isn't that far. . . BTW, my nephew is a student there a very gifted and musically talented kid. If you do get here I will play his version of "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd.

PM me and I'll give you my phone number.

    Joe

One of my best friends is at Nova, hence the reason for the trip. It is looking like feb 16-19 at this point, I will keep you in the loop. I visited three years ago, and would like to go back and sample some of the local culture (read:COEDs), so my good friend Ellen has arranged for this to happen the next time I am in town. It should be a great time. :D

Bill, you have amassed quite a lot of nice gear for your age. All that gear, and you still find time to fight for truth, justice, freedom, and all that other cool stuff we take for granted. Many thanks!

I'm 26 myself, nice to have another "youngster" here as the demographic for high-end audio seems to favor more experienced persons. I didn't contract the virus of home audio until about a year ago. Thought I would fight it off, but couldn't. Now I'm quarantined here with the rest of these wackos.

BTW, $350 for the Marantz 8300 sounds like one hell of a deal. I got my Pioneer Elite 59avi for about that much myself and have been pleased, but probably would rather have the Marantz.

Yeah George got me roped into Carveraudio.com with his wisdom and the ability to step in and regulate the rifraf when it reared it's head. I lucked out on the marantz, no one else bid on it. It was $350 start price and sat that way for 7 long **** days. God was I nervous about that. My max bid was $750 and I was hoping to get it for that. I watched three others go for over a grand so I thought that the demand was pretty dry by the time this guy listed it. Not a whole lot of people will spend a grand on a used DVD player. Don't let my age fool you, I am every bit as odd as all of the other folks on here, if not worse in some other aspects. lol.:D
