I FOUND THE PAPERWORK. It say's the R.T.A.11 share's the same low frequency "section" cabinet as the (r.t.a.12b) It also use's the same 6 1/2" drivers, and the same12" planar fluid-coupled subwoofer and 1" moving coil high frequency radiators as the 12b!! The cabinet is 33 1/2"h x 16"w x 11 1/2"d The performance of the 11 is remarkably similar to that of the 12b. "it say's" Now all I have to do is find a set of SW 120 PR'S or a suitable replacement!! According to Polk's site their there! Thank's to each and every one of you who tried to help me!! :D;)

Nice. I thought you had the RTA11's. I never listened to the 11's but I have a set of RTA8's in my bedroom and they rock. BTW the 8's have no PRs. Enjoy your Polks when they are fixed.

I have a pair of RTA-11T's, similar drivers in a tall narrow cabinet. Excellent sound.

John these are R.T.A.11 loudspeakers, no other numbers or letters behind the 11. They are big, wide, & fat, the passive-radiators are 12" across with 2# 6 1/2" drivers on top of that and a 1" tweeter above those. They are not the tall skinny 11T's or the 11TL's. As good as people say they are, there's not much info about'um. I think they were only made one or two years, from what I gather. :(

Bingo! Monitor 11's they be (according to the description). Here's what mine looked like...First pic: RTA11 Reference Monitor System (Model 11), Next the Monitor 11 next to a Monitor 10, finally the RTA 11T. All mine at one point in time. Looking back I think the Monitor / Model / RTA 11 was the best of that bunch.

    Cheers!

I never tried to run them off a receiver. I was using Rotel seperates at the time and they were a perfect match.

Just to back up the guys, those are, without a doubt Monitor 11's that you have. My father owns a pair and he likes them very much.

Midrange drivers on the inside, mirror imaged pairs. Does that end the debate of whether or not the RTA 11 & 12 are indeed marked left and right for a reason? Or does it not?

    Two Channel Setup:

    Speakers: Wharfedale Opus 2-3
    Integrated Amp: Krell S-300i
    DAC: Arcam irDac
    Source: iMac
    Remote Control: iPad Mini

    3.2 Home Theater Setup:

    Fronts: Klipsch RP-160M
    Center: Klipsch RP-160M
    Subwoofer: SVS PB12NSD (X 2)
    AVR: Yamaha Aventage RX-A2030

...that kept speakers (and their boxes) for 25 years !! I too have a pair of the rare RTA Monitor 11's (in real walnut veneer!!) paired with my RTA Monitor 12B's (also in real walnut) which I upgraded to 12C's by swapping in the silver dome tweeter. Not currently using them as my HT I built didn't suit them (for their size) so picked up some LSI models.

Been a polk person since 1981 (in the home AND in the car). Have a pair of monitor 4.5's hanging around and have started putting Polk in-wall speakers around the rest of the house.

Living in Baltimore it's nice to support (what used to be??) a local company! Depsite the availability of Polk's at nationwide chains Soundscape is still my dealer of choice for these fine speakers!

Rick, welcome the da club... it's fun hanging out in here.. getting your learning on.. and wasting time as well. ha ha ha.

Polk now had an updated/upgraded tweeter to replace the SL2000 silve coil dome.. it's much smoother sounding. if you ever want to put those RTA12's back into service.. you may want to consider replacing that tweeter.

    What are you talking about?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
