I see. Maybe he's away from the computer for the weekend or found somebody with cash in hand. You'll just have to wait and see.
I believe Stasis is circuit design based on an extremely stable platform.Political Correctness'.........defined

does any body know what the stasis is or stood for?
i always thought it was just a model name.
Stasis is a Nelson Pass design. It was licensed from Threshold. It a very neat little design that Nak paid a lot for to use. It's basically the same as what was used in Threshold S150's and S300's in the day. They aren't without their issues and most of those issues result from age. Be aware that you need to find someone knowledgeable to work on them (not your typical std design) and that some parts like the bridge rectifiers are had to come by. Mostly they are bullet proof and occasionally need refreshing.
I have the link to the patent around here somewhere. Do a search on Nakamichi or Stasis or Nelson Pass here on CP. I've discussed it in detail before and don't feel like rehashing the whole thing. If you aren't that into understanding amp basics the explanation won't do you much good.
They are very nice sounding bullet proof amps if they have been taken care of. The series (II) units are even better as they have more capacitance, larger transformers and fixed a problem that plagued the series (I) which involved the protection circuit prematurely engaging when driving very difficult loads. There was a factory upgrade that could be installed at the time on the series (I) units. I wouldn't worry about this unless you are driving very difficult speaks.
I want one too, but I'm not paying some of the asking prices and I haven't lined up a competent tech to over haul/check out once I do find one that meets my satisfaction. There have been a bunch on e-bay and the 'gon lately. They seem to appear in packs and then you don't see any for awhile.

it's not Craigslist you have to worry about.... it's the person behind the sale on craigslist you need to be careful about. I have done quite a few sales and buys on CL to know there can be some good find on there. but spend alot of time talking to the seller and see and hear the speakers first.
I had one guy do some back tracking on me in person. He was selling four Polk R20 speakers to me.. but once I got there he finally owned up to one of the R20's was missing the driver. yeah, right.. you JUST noticed this? But for the most part, i have had good dealings on Craigslist. I love selling and buying on there.. no shipping involved that way.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
