I haven't seen this post in awhile and I apologize for not posting back on it. The guy who has the PA-7 is in Tulsa, OK. He owns a pawn shop on Admiral Road (I think it is). He also had 2 pairs of Polk Monitor 10's. One pair are the 10B's in darn near perfect shape and the other pair are the originals maybe...they had the fuse on the back. If you want his info, I'll be there in a couple of weeks or I could call him for you.

Here's one of those amps, http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?ampstran&1174611659

Audiogon isn't like ePay, the folks there tend to have a bit more class and knowledge, so don't insult the guy with some crazy lowball offer.

That's my next purchase hopefully...a pair of SDA's. I'm willing to drive to about wherever to get them as there is no way I'm going to risk shipping! My plan is to buy a 2nd Carver M1.0t and bridge one to each. I remember seeing a post here on how to build a "transformer" of sorts to enable a pair of mono blocks to work since they need a common ground amp. I can't tell you how amazed I am with my Monitor 10B's I'm still up listening to some music on them and the detail is nice...very nice. I hate having to wait for a pair of SDA's! I remember the first time I heard them back in 85 at the CES show and then at a local dealer. I was floored.

In a nutshell different drivers, driver configuration and cabinet design.

SRS 2.3 have sl2000 tweeters and two stereo drivers have what look like dark hockey pucks over them to slow those drivers down. These have the SDA drivers on the inside edge.

SRS 2.3TL use the later sl3000 tweeter and are similar to the rest of the SDA line with the outer drivers used for SDA. The cabinet is etched inside with grooves for improved response.

I think the SDA drivers are still on the outside. The difference being that the hockey pucks are stereo drivers and they're on the outside, whereas the other SDA's never have stereo drivers on the outside.

    Two Channel Setup:

    Speakers: Wharfedale Opus 2-3
    Integrated Amp: Krell S-300i
    DAC: Arcam irDac
    Source: iMac
    Remote Control: iPad Mini

    3.2 Home Theater Setup:

    Fronts: Klipsch RP-160M
    Center: Klipsch RP-160M
    Subwoofer: SVS PB12NSD (X 2)
    AVR: Yamaha Aventage RX-A2030
    Blu Ray: Sony BDP-S790
    TV Source: DirecTV Genie

The hockey puck drivers are MW6513 and they are on the left on the left speaker and on the right on the right speaker. The outside.

    You got it.

SDA drivers are always on the outside including the 2.3's. However, the 2.3's have the sub bass (donut) drivers inline with the SDA drivers, something unique to that speaker only. When setting up the 2.3's, the proper placement has the 4 drivers inline as the outside array with the 2 stereo drivers to the inside, which is the complete opposite of the 2.3TL's.

Pie. Not just any old pie, but a special one from years ago. This pie has super lingering powers and the ability to ricochet.

Generally speaking, yes. However, it's always best to exercise common sense and caution. Check his feedback and read the comments left. Most folks on Audiogon don't mind talking on the phone before doing a deal, gives both parties a sense of the other guy. Also, I've found that it's good idea to discuss packing, insurance and means of shipping.

Did you lowball him or make a fair offer? Often times, a seller will not respond to what he feels is an lowball offer.
