At that price, I think it would have to take a government conspiracy of epic proportions to ensure that these don't sell by Christmas.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I don't know. Like he said, he has other things to do in his life from time to time. I'll be patient. But in the meantime, I'm going to continue looking in case this doesn't work out.

Dane, it's not you. It is the great potential of damage to the speakers themselves during shipping that is the limiting factor. If I had them I wouldn't ship them either!

Just a head's up to those afraid to ship speakers.......

I've had very good service using TeamAir. I think their website is http://www.teamair.com

If you are near a large city, then they will come out to your house, pick up the boxes (automatic tailgate) and stretchwrap them on a skid. They will deliver to your house and wheel the pallet into your garage if needed.

I just got my 2nd set of Innersounds, with each box being 20 x 24 x 72 and the pallet weighed over 200 pounds. Total cost $190 fully insured from SanFrancisco to Chicago.

    Just .02 worth ;)

I had 7+ boxes of SRT's totalling almost 500 pounds arrive safe and sound from 3000 miles away ... I wanted them bad but a road trip was out of the question ...

Although I'm as paranoid as the next guy about shipping we should all remember that unless we are going to the manufacturer to get our speaks that they were all shipped at one time or another ...

However, in the end we all have to do what we think is best and if that is local pickup only then that's what it is ... My only other comment is that if that's the case then it should be clearly stated in the initial offering ...

I have no issues with shipping a speaker(s) per se and I'm certainly not new to audio resale here or otherwise. I'm not losing my home if I don't sell these speakers so forgive me for not falling over myself to add extra work, when I'm already spread pretty thin in regards to work.

If I read another "odd" comment about me in another thread or why "the seller doesn't seem to want to work with me", you can definetly keep your eyes peeled for the next deal.

I believe its within my right to decide the ultimate outcome of my FM transaction but I sincerely appreciate your enthusiasm and motivation as a buyer.

I'll look into the particulars for shipping, get some figures and email them to you. Let me think about it and I'll make a decision by Friday. Just FYI it was never stated that I would definetly ship these at any time so noone has been led by the nose here.

    Thanks.

Norm - I appreciate the link as I wasn't aware of that particular company and I'm definetly near a major city.

PW - Thanks for the history on that SRT shipment. I recall that from some time ago.

    Doro,

I should add that this was somewhat of an unusual shipping deal as the seller had been the Polk area sales director for the west half of the country and Polk either did or arranged for the shipping ...

Too bad we can't get Polk to ship all our sales ...

I think I'm just going to pass on these. I'd rather not wait the rest of the week just to know if you're willing to trouble your schedule to ship. I recognize the difficulty that gets added into the equation when trying to ship something big and heavy, and I too would rather conduct a transaction locally.
Understand that I wasn't trying to make "odd" comments. Usually when I list something for sale, I like to be prompt and thorough in my replies. I like to receive that same courtesy, and unfortunately you and I haven't had the best of luck in that department.
I'm sure you'll have no problem selling these for your asking price, and hopefully locally. Free bump for an excellent deal.

Last call before Audiogon and the dreaded Ebay.

All this LSi talk and only a Minnesota native speaks up and gets hardcore? $800 LSi15's? Weird.

That all you got Russ? :p I was looking for something a bit more illimunating.... Should I infer that it would be a stupid move?

I have never had the chance to listen to LSI series speakers and I am thinking about trying something new, which means something else has to go. I already have several other SDA's and thought the 2.3's would be the easiest to move at the price of the LSI's. I am not looking to make any cash, just merely offset the cost of the new purchase so that it is a net zero transaction for me at the end of the day.

    Thanks again.

    Bert...

I think Russ may have been "wowing" this thread. Doro's trying to give away what is more than likely a mint pair of Lsi15's for the best price most (if not all of us) have ever seen.. and this thread is dragging mud. Truth is... these should have been swiped up in 3 minutes or less.

ZB - thanks for the clarification. I shoulda known better as Russ' ascerbic posts are generally pretty obvious. As the wife loves to point out, I get defensive FAR too easily.

Russ - you have my heartfelt apologies if I managed to offend you. Not my intention.

Now that that is out of the way - any comparison advise?

I have read that the LSi's are power hungry and directional. Neither of those things put me off of them. I am just wondering what the sonic differences are and whether or not one is prefered to the other. Or are they too apples and oranges to really say?

    Thanks again for everone's patience.

If I had the money I would be driving to Doro's this minute...you see used LSi9's close to that price, and not in as good condition.

    Unbelievable.

yep, I'll put myself firmly in this camp.

seems hard to sell speaks local pick up in the Northeast to me sometimes. I still dont ship though, Doro hit the nail on the head, the P.I.T.A. factor can often not be worth it.

shame too, if I allready didnt own a pair (and consider having LSi15's as surrounds to be effing ridiculous :D ), I'd be knocking on his door as we speak.

Man, I wish I could get these. I just don't have the money(but still have plenty of room on my credit card:p ) and promised myself not to upgrade for another year or two at least...

As stated previously, apples and oranges.

It's a more accurate and articulate speaker than any SDA but it doesn't have the soundstage that an SDA creates....and the key word is create. The sweet spot is smaller in comparison and tends to be pretty directional in my smoking jacket demos.

Is it better? That's personal but I think that the LSi is the best speaker Polk has made in decades.
