    Other options credit cards
    then dispute any charge
    they dont charge 3 percent
cash back to accounts is sent

    Add 3% to the cost
what the heck its not your loss
    wait a minute
    cant you see
Paypal costs both you and me

So how far will fee's go
Well for sure I just dont know
But paying extra to make a deal
You can bet its just not Reel.

For those that think PayPal sucks, what do you suggest for an alternative? And, why the hell should PayPal do these services for free? Have you ever considered the regulator burdons placed on them?

Exactly. You get a service, you PAY for it. I know we're all getting a little used to everything on the web being free, but some things you just have to pay for, and having a bank conveniently transfer your money around is one of them.

And to RT1, whose clever rhyme intuits that credit cards are free... Um, what? Vendors have to pay a percentage of their credit card purchases to Visa or Mastercard when they accept credit, and the regular eBay user isn't going to have a way to accept credit cards anyways.

    Ya think????????

    credit cards should you use
its their big plan for you to lose
if your not careful or pay late
their ice is thin you can't skate

but with them if I make a deal
    and should someone then appeal
they dont come and take my dough
Paypal does and that just Blows.

I find a buyer who in me will trust
    Without Paypal, yes you must
but we dont pay no extra fee
and that sits just fine the deal is free.

I've just suscribed to this thread and I'm having it sent to me as a newsletter every other Sunday...

    I love it
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

with pay-pal, you can pay and get the item before it even debits your account.. its not like a credit card transaction where it authorizes before it go's through.. they hold the bill until your bank is debited.. mean while you get your item shipped and received and sometimes before a single dime is removed from your account.. Nah they don't have any risks on thier end

    dear Paypal,

An organization I belong to is collecting funds from its national membership to distribute to a non-profit agency, namely the SPCA. Would you consider waiving your fees for this cause?

Add 10 points to the Paypal suck-o-meter.

I think we all should stay away from fees like PayPal charges...in fact, I think we should give up our ATM cards, Debit/Credit cards, refuse to pay for money orders, and refuse to pay for any wire transfer fees when we wire money. I, for one, am going to refuse to pay any fees on my checking account (regardless of my balance), too - they have no right to take my money and loan it to someone else and make more money. These banks have no risk, no sophisticated information systems, no regulatory burden, no audit requirements, and no record retention to consider, all they do is make money...

Okay, I've been thinking about it. I am willing to try your 12 step program before I give up all that other stuff. I will let you know how it goes and thanks for your help and understanding...

Is this for like 12 hours in a row, or are there 11 other steps that I need to do at some point?

ummmm................not everyone needs all 12 steps its very dangerous the withdrawl (oooo a pun) and all that, just do the first one and get yourself to a meeting.

I would suggest you look for a deal on a very large mattress, to hold everything.

More than once I've bought something from audiogon and determined that by using paypal and paying the guy 3% extra that I was either breaking even or saving money by not having to run to the post office, pay for a MO, stamp it and send it out. And... I didn't have to wait an extra 10 days not knowing if the guy got the MO and already spent it but hasn't notified me yet. Nothing like waiting two weeks and getting an email asking why payment has not been received yet. A great institution (paypal) if you ask me. :)

    MM,

Next years Shed shopping list includes:

    Table
    Power
    Phono-pre (possibly)

The clarity and neutrality of the BAT is evident with the MF digital front, the vinyl gear is excellent for hi-entry level but the discrepency between the sources is apparent.

I'll reiterate my complaint with Paypal in this quick reply.

The money my friend got from the woman had 3% taken out of it. Paypal had the money in their hands in the form of Jason's account. All Jason wanted to do was transfer the money from his account to mine. But no, Paysuck charged 3% to do that. They charge 3% to keep the money IN THEIR HANDS, but if you want to transfer it to a checking account it's FREE?! Are you effing kidding me? Can you guys see why I was upset?

    Yes, it's ****..........

They only see the transaction as a payment, be it from the lady to jason, or jason to you. Call up their CS department and ask them why the fees.

Not really. If you want to put money INTO your PayPal account, they don't charge you 3% for that either. The entire point of their service is going from one PayPal account to another, and charging for it. When the woman sent your friend the money initially, you have no idea if she paid by credit card or already had the money in her PayPal account. They're not charging 3% to keep it "in their hands", they're charging 3% to transfer ownership of funds. When they cut you a check, they have already verified that the address the check is sent to belongs to you, so they know the money isn't changing hands, merely being liquified.

The same exact thing is true with any other bank, if you think about it. Does it cost you money to go to your banks ATM and deposit or withdraw money? Nope. But try and wire money to someone else's account. Usually costs money.

They still have over $900.00 of mine, refunded the money to the person who filed the chargeback, and somehow didn't use my timely responses to the chargeback to fight the credit card company. Still out $900.00 and don't have my item back. Why would someone send the item back when they have it and the money already? Not to mention they have locked up my account now and are requiring me to jump through several hoops to re-open it. I am increasing saying F-Paypal.
