You're right, Belvidere always seems to have the cheapest gas. Popular Grove is usually about the same. Funny thing is that it's usually about $.15 higher down the road in Marengo! Just glad I don't have to fill up in the NW burbs! Doug.

found this tonight about Washingont State's gas taxes..

Is Washington's gas tax the highest in the country?
No. After the three cent increase that went into effect on July 1, we are tied for 8th with Rhode Island. Ahead of us are Hawaii, Illinois, California, New York, Nevada, Wisconsin and Indiana. Oregon and Montana are in the 27 –28 cent range, ranking 14th and 16th on the table.

Carl it's still $2.69 here in Philly PA. I'm moving to Delaware because PA is one of the largest in state taxes overall not just gas.

wow you guys pay so much for fuel, it puts it in to perspective for me as over here in NZ we thought $1.75 per ltr (this was at its highest) was expensive, this has since droped to $1.43, we just dont know how lucky we are.

$2.55/gallon for unleaded 87 at the local ARCO station here in Castro Valley, California....20 minutes outside of Oakland. I'd bet gas is cheaper 10 miles further inland. Seems gas is cheaper when it's pumped further away from the refineries.

You realize there's almost 4 litres in a gallon, right? 1.43 a litre is ~$5.72 per gallon...

    Damn state and local taxes!

is it 2.69 in the city of philly, or in the suburbs?

Cause in the city of pittsburgh, gas is at 2.69. But in the suburbs, it 2.19-2.35.

We are at 2.65 to 2.70 for 91 octane in this area. I 'd like to see $2.40 or less.
$1.90 would be nice but I think those days are over.
One thing that hurts us that is not going to change is that Japan is also buying oil in quantities close to ours. Supply and demand will keep the prices up.

as you can guess maths isn't my thing, and i forget over there you still work in an imperial scale (gallons not litres)
but after a conversion from nz dollars to us dollars this is what we pay for a gallon $3.76, i guess your the lucky ones:rolleyes:

    Danny check this out:

It's actually cheaper closer to the refineries in Martinez. You just have to know where to look.

    $2.37 today at ARCO.

My (not so bright) step brother did that for an ENTIRE SUMMER one year. He ended up getting busted because he kept going back to the SAME STATION!
