Dover Delaware today at 12:45 $2.40. Right after that going North on Rt. 1 about 17 miles North of Dove my left rear tire had a blow out at 65 mph.

No injuries, lots of waiting and aggravation.

Too bad you cant haul the government up in front of somebody to testify as to why theyre price gouging! $.40-.50 per gallon is taxes. Thats just a shame.

In my neighborhood, the lowest price was $2.97 for one out of three stations. The other two I noticed were $3.19.

I still don't get it. . . Philly PA, Wilmington DE, have loads of oil refineries and you always see huge oil tankers coming up the Delaware & Schuylkill Rivers. I don't understand how Philly still has gas prices between $2.90 & $3.00 + ????

    1.98 here yesterday.

Here they are actually estimating going as low as 1.75.

Must admit that I'm pissed to be somewhat excited about these prices.

Funny how a few miles will change the prices. I went by the BP by me that was 2.35 but they were in the middle of shift change and i didn't want to wait so i fugured that i would go to one on the way to work which is 8 miles away. the BP by work was 2.65 so i drove another mile up the road and the exxen was 2.29. It amazes me how there can be a .35 swing in the price in just a matter of a few miles.

I see this more often downtown, where it can take close to 30 minutes just to go five blocks during rush hour. I guess distance is relative:p

Kind of a "last place to gas for miles" strategy

Yeah when I was 16 and got my driver's license gas prices were Hess= .249/gal, that right 24.9 cents/gal. Then again that was in 1971. Two years later we had the oil embargo by the Arabs which drove the price to .75/gal and we were (atleast my father and the adults) outraged.

Seems like a mere pittance now. :D

Yeah, Remember that? Long lines at the pumps, odd and even days. And they cut off their supply. There isn't anything like that going on now, and we are in control of the second largest oil producing Arab nation...

The funniest thing that ever happend to me during those times was: I had a 1963 Chevy Biscayne, one of the rules they had was you had to have 1/2 tank gas or less to purchase gas. There was a gas station by my house that was on a hill. I would get in line and when I was about 4 cars back from the pump, I would call the attendant over to check my fuel gage. The gage always showed less than 1/4 tank because of the hill even though I had well over 1/2 tank.

After a little while the owner of the gas station realized what was going on so they put a 10 gallon limit on any purchase. See I ruined it for everybody.

2.39 here, still higer than most if not all in this thread. I doubt we'll see $1.99 here, but one can hope. Still pissed as just a month ago I paid $3.39. Something stinks when gas prices can drop that quickly in a short amount of time and the oil companies can still make a large profit. If that happend to milk or beef or bottled water they'd be hurting so bad they would be asking the government for (more in some instances) subsidies to stay afloat.

Don't get me wrong I'm happy as a pig in **** that price went down a whole $1/gal. But why did they get so high in the first place, somethings wrong with the economics of that since it can fall so drastically over a very short period of time.

Is that for the lowest grade? Damn, I don't feel so angry anymore. $2.39 looks like it's not too bad, though I have to use high grade so I'm paying $2.59.

LOL, Doug....it's always about 0.05 cheaper in Belvidere :) . I used to commute to Dekalb eveyday and would get gas in Belvidere since I was usually passing thru, it was always cheaper.
