it's a 10pm special showing everywhere tonight, not midnight. I went online and pre-ordered my tickets. There's no way in hell they'll be any available if you wait to buy them at the actual location(s).

If you have one close...go see it at an IMAX. They're showing it in 3D and the 4 scenes that are in 3D make for an exciting movie experience.

    Sick movie... Nuff said.

Really though, it could have been totally botched, but it wasnt, the special effects also wernt annoyingly fake, which i hate. Good movie, cool story, Kevin Spacey is great as Lex Luthor, and they couldnt have picked a better superman in Brandon Routh.

    Go see it!

I Loved It. I hope they 5 more of them with Routh, I felt like he did a great job, And Spacey brought out a much darker side of Lex Luthor that I don't feel like Hackman had, I really felt like Luthor was an evil person that wouldn't stop until he got what he wanted in this one, but in the older ones, to me Luthor was just like another comic book bad guy. I know that alot of the old scool guys (AAHARVEL) are going to have a fit when I say this but......I would take Superman Returns over Superman I-IV any day of the week, there i said it. Sorry guys but I really enjoyed the new version better.

You aren't alone. It was a superb movie. Of course, the technology of today, blows those older flicks outta the water. Therefore, being the younger lad that I am, and addicted to special effects, the WOW factor takes over easily. Plus, this edition was moving beyond what I had hoped for.

    Cheers for Superman!

I watched Superman III Sunday night and noticed that the suit that the beer drinking bad Superman was wearing is almost the same colors as the suit that that Routh wears in the new movie, you think thats where Singer might have got the idea for the suit from?

i would say so, and it makes sense. I always liked that darker shade for some reason. Actually it might have been b/c Superman vs. Doppelganger was the ONLY decent thing about that movie. Too much b.s. Lester camp.

I have I-III on DVD. I refused to buy the set b/c I refuse to acknowledge Superman IV's existence.
Though I must say that III isn't that much better.

Watched it last night. Actually, it a was good movie. Decent story. Decent sound. The guy who played Superman did an excellent job. The actress who played Lois Lane needs acting lessons, though; her portrayal was lackluster. Nevertheless, it the best super hero movie I've seen (and I didn't like most of them). Recommended rental, for sure.

Now, I can only go from what I've heard, which did surprise me, but several have said that Spacey could have done a better job....it's like he was copying Hackman's Lex Luthor instead of making the character his own. I'll see tonight.

Check Wal-mart the one here where I live had them out sunday which is very rare and its only $19. BTW the bestbuy here in town didn't have any either when I checked earlier tonight, had a truck load of the SD version though they did'nt have part I or II in HD either which I also thought came out today.

I might get it, but being that it's a $30 HD-DVD combo-disk my common sense says "waste of money".

EDIT: I bought the SD-DVD this morning, $13.88 at Fry's. I will not buy combo-hd-dvds.

I guess I am the odd one out again. Saw this last week for the first time and was disappointed. Not a terrible movie, but could have been a lot better. I was surprised that Bryan Singer left the X-men series to direct this. X-2 was excellent. Superman just so so. I think that this superma was a bit too candy=apple. Superman has always has a bit of a dark streak to him that was not present in the Superman. He was too boy scout for my liking.
