The best part is that they got rid of most of the really unreliable stuff from that Cherokee. B)

For a while in the early 1990s, we had a 1984 (AMC-era Jeep) "Wagoneer" (= the then-new Cherokee with fancier trim) with a (GM) 4-cyl and a 5-speed.

It was a hand-me-down from Mrs. H's parents, which was very kind of them, and it was good off road and in snow... but, man-oh-man, what a hunk of junk. It used to break, nigh-on weekly, in unusual and interesting ways. And you could pretty much hear it rust on a warm summer day. :#

    Bahahaaaaa....

We were in Miami for the restoration of Hurricane Andrew in 92.
Out ground-man used to do a friendly sab-O-taj-ee of one of our dip sh**t soups before heading out @ 4 am.

One time he did this very thing, only thing was he completely covered the driveshaft of our soups chevy caprice.
He, our soup, got about 30' then slammed on the brakes.
He stepped outta the car and took a look underneath.
He stands up, sees us rolling on the parking lot asphalt and drives off.
We could hear him for a half a mile...

We all appreciated mr duvall for being a sport.
It broke up the monotony of having to work minimun 244 hours every two weeks for months.

    Thank you for this.
    Brought back some great memories....

^^ Who knows. Looking closer it appears the propellers are two separate props each with two blades stacked one on the other. I don't believe old airplane propellers with four blades were used in this fashion.

Yes...When my daughter was dating. This 20yo kid that thought he was funny. They came to the house one evening for dinner. I strapped AC tie wraps to his drive shaft. I also put packing blowup bags under his tires...pop pop pop, then rat-a-tat-tat...rat-a-tat-tat

Loved videoing him and my daughter all the way down the street...stop-go-stop-go-stop-go--rat-a-tat-tat
Kids made it home safely, but I did get a call on speaker...later :D:D:D

Just reminded them..."I'm older, wiser, smarter...you play with the bull...you get the horns" >:)

They laughed...I think my wife was the one who wasn't laughing...she doesn't think I'm that funny :#
