Just found out my sony disc player's remote has an "Audio" button below the 9 button. I was laying down today out there in low light to rest and I pushed a lot of buttons on 2 remotes. Well, one CD tonight sounded like crap. Why would a designer put a sound altering button below the 9.

I searched the remotes for sound or audio buttons and saw that one. While another CD was playing, I heard the sound change a little. Then the next push collapsed the sound to crap. Like only a center channel sound sounding through a 2' tube. I pushed the button again and the sound was AWESOME! The ADS's sounded full and very powerful. Really amazing sound was coming out now.

So I'm going to look on line to see what that Audio button does to the sound in how many ways too. I think there is 3 or 4 sound changes. There is 3. I found the player manual on line. I have a different remote but I know 3 things happen. Weird but here they are.

L sound comes from both speakers. R sound comes from both speakers. #3 is STEREO. :o
I'm glad I figured it out tonight. I have to find the original remote and/or replace this player. It's a 19 year old 10 bit player. A Sony DVP-S550D.

I know the sound was first rate after I hit the "stereo" mode I guess it is.
I'm curious to see if another player will sound as good as what I heard the past couple of days.

I also think the woofers are moving well in these ADS's now. Awesome bass was heard tonight!

I do have the left one flipped over. I just haven't taken a picture of it.

    OK, here's a weird one for y'all.
We were driving home from an impromptu pizza dinner at our daughter & family's house in a town near us. Driving there (and back) we'd observed an ... interesting... piece of yard art.

To track a long story down, we believe we have tracked it down.

Apparently this bus ball (or an eerily similar Doppelgänger) was a much-beloved fixture at the UVM campus in Burlington... until this spring.

I have never seen that bus ball, but I was born 1950 feet from where it sat.

It's actually two straight eight single overhead cams joined together, each with its own crankshaft connected to the other by gears. I looked it up and it appears to have been designed as an aircraft engine and I could find no mention of Bugatti ever putting one in a car, so probably someone just stuffed it into one.
