It's when I got out of the hobby for about 15 years... although I was also getting a PhD, starting a career, & starting a family -- so I was kinda distracted for a while.

This is the VIP Building at the Bahrain International Circuit, the home of Formula One's Bahrain Grand Prix (which was held today). The flag is the flag of the Kingdom of Bahrain (a former British colony).
The umbrella rooftop is just that: permanent parasols to protect VIPs from the desert sun on the upper balcony.
