would love to see more people share their old pics, audio or not, thanks jimbo, that was quite a setup for the day, and for a young military man
Thanks, scottyboy. I wish I had more of my old stuff.

And nice photo of the tree/truck.

Thanks for posting the photo Jimbo, that looks like an Akai GX260D loaded with BASF tape. Very nice deck!

thanks, Ken. I bought it through the BX. It looks like I must have been taping the album because both the turntable and deck are playing. I loved the reel-to-reel but it gave up the ghost pretty quickly with electrical problems. I ended up selling off over 100 tapes eventually rather than buy another one.

Here's the setup some time later. Not sure where the tape deck was then and unfortunately, I still don't have the A speakers in view. However the B speakers are the two "pictures" in the top center. They were some kind of styrofoam speaker that my father made cabinets for and then painted the speaker covers with outdoor scenes. Unfortunately, when I got moved from Alaska to Missouri, they were in one of the boxes that "disappeared" in transit.

The mids and high were okay, just okay, but there wasn't much bass at all. More of a curiosity than something to listen to. But since my father painted the scenes and made the cabinets, I was sorry to lose them.

They may have been the Poly-Planar speakers, you could get them in a few different patterns. Actually there is a company that makes just the transducers that can be attached to any flat surface, such as foam core. There's been a few experimenters who have made some pretty impressive designs.

Could be, Ken. Unfortunately, if there was any info on the speakers themselves, I don't remember it. I didn't buy them. After I was sent to Monterey for language school, my father got them from someone he worked with at Bloomsburg University in Pa. and he made the cabinets and mailed them to me. There was probably a tag of some kind on them, but I can't picture it.

    meteor.jpg

Picture taken just north of me Friday night by a woman in a photo club. Rare to see a meteor shooting through the northern lights.

Awesome photo, TRed. Amazing luck to have someone who knows how to photograph the lights there when a meteor passes.

Amazing luck is right. She had gone with a group from the photo club to shoot the aurora and they were getting ready to leave, she was the only one who still had her camera not packed away.

Geez Sal, judging by that before pic, you don't spend much time in the yard huh ? The new lawn looks great, but if you don't take care of it it won't be long before it looks like that before pic again.

BTW- blow up your neighbors rusted old shed, man what an eyesore.
