As seen Someplace Else* -- I think it's bad when this happens.

Mark - jealous once again! We loved Moab, UT - very cool town. I still remember our daughter doing the Junior Ranger program. Canyonlands was where they told us "don't bust the crust" (cryptobiotic soil)!

Enjoy the beauty of the southwest!

Attended a concert with my lovely daughter Geri last night. The Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma. Outstanding! (sorry for the resolution - low light level cell phone shot)

That's awesome Mike! My daughter Kara and I saw him with Kathryn Scott at Penn State last November. Fantastic show. What talent between the two of them.

    Thanks @scubalab and @Willow !

Geri is excelling in her passion as a classically trained violinist. She is a freshman in a high school for the visual and performing arts, first chair second violin in their orchestra (much to the chagrin of upper classmen), first chair second violin in the Sarasota Orchestra's Symponic Strings and has become an accomplished pianist as well (freshmen are required to take music theory and piano). We are also so proud that she recently received an award for the highest GPA in her freshman class. Academically her passion is botany.

It was delightful to have the prettiest young lady at the concert on my arm.

    Wow, what talent! :o

Did she get that from you, her mother or both?

I'll bet she was the prettiest woman there! ;)

I was looking for pictures earlier and found this one looking at me...

Now for the other end of the spectrum. :#

Here's my wife when we took a Gambling Cruise on the BIG M cruise ship down below us in Little River SC.. Just 45 miles from us. Beautiful ship and casino! First class everything!

Anyway, before boarding the ship there are signs here and there that say "No picture taking in the casino, period".

Well I wanted to get a pic of our breakfast and I did. This area is 1/2 of the second deck. There are 3 decks. But anyway, there are 100 slot machines are just 15 feet behind me.

I looked back at her and she was still giving me THE LOOK. Anybody dating a woman or married for any length of time KNOWS this sight.

    I asked " What? "

She said " You're not supposed to take pictures of the inside of the ship! "

DUH...I had forgotten. She was right.

I waited for a security guy to come and yank me to an interigation room but it never happened thank God.

    Here it is.

    Thanks! The breakdown would be:

    Love of music - me
Intellect - nice blend of both of us
    Looks - 100% Mom ;)

... and I can just imagine the Look you would get if her photo, which is now floating around cyberspace, were to go viral.

Not that I would ever stoop to such a heinous act, but there are those...

    ;)

    PS Breakfast looks good.

    :)

Speaking of breakfast and casinos -- that juxtaposition of topics put me to mind of this old Crack the Sky song (from another time's forgotten space, but rebooted in the early 21st Century by John Palumbo himself):

True.... I could stand on the front porch and eyeball them as they're coming up the walk.
That would be enough to scare the bejabbers out of them.

saw this Someplace Else. I am picturing a budding entrepreneur somewhere out amidst the sagebrush (i.e., where folks may still be drivin' vehicles with cassette tape players) pickin' up strewn cassette tape along the edge of the road:

Are you kidding me... Fabric made from old cassette tape.

    It's for real. :o

That's some cool out of the box thinking and designing. B)

    There is a video showing it being made. I couldn't copy it so;
