Need help on Harmon Kardon avr 7200

I just helped a friend repair his unit - the 500 mA fuse was blown, as in the other posts.
His caps were "leaky" too. That black stuff - it's not electrolyte, it's rubber sealant. They probably put it there in manufacturing to stop vibration. -
I had the Fuse / Capacitor problem on my 5 year old HK AVR-7200, as mentioned by Shark, as well. I replaced them about 3 months ago and the system was back to normal for a few weeks.
Then it began to turn itself off. It would come right back on when I hit the switch or the remote, but a couple of times a day, you could hear it click itself back off. This system is the heart of my audio network, and between radio, satellite and TV, it's on about 12 hours a day.
A further inspection revealed that another group of capacitors had blown their guts. If you take off the cover and look at the horizontal boards in the middle at the back of the unit (there is a stack of 4 there), the bottom one (PCB Main) was covered in black capacitor goo.
I downloaded the service manual (https://www.manualsparadise.com/) to get the capacitor values and ordered replacements for Caps C223, C242, 243, 244,245,252 and 253 on the main board as the goo was all over and I couldn't be sure which one was bad.
Today I gutted the system and replaced all the caps on the Main board. The interesting this is that since the goo had spread acrosss the board, I can't be certain which cap was bad. If I had to guess, I think it's C242 and both C244 and C245. My suggestion is to replace them all while you're in there.
So far, so good. -
I realize this thread is six years old but I'm another satisfied user!! My 7200 died. Checked fuses with ohm meter and found bad one. Went to Radio Shack and bought a package of five 1/2 amp, 250 volt fuses and replaced the bad one (the one by itself on front of board). The HK is now working like a champ.....thanks Sami....
