Any of those colors as long as there is no plastic. I will never again buy any electronics that have plastic casings, fronts or knobs.

Knobs of aluminium is a bonus (IMHO). But fronts of plastic is really crap.

I buy electronics with fronts and case of aluminium. If they have aluminium knobs...better, if not, just ok.

The clasical "black" finish is the far winner of this poll.

Maybe in the future, when coming the "white finish" the results change

Adcom use to offer a white finish for their amps. You see them pop up on EBay every once in a while.

I like the black stuff myself. I think it's got more of a "classy" look to it. Unless it's a brushed or polished aluminum, I think the silver stuff looks cheap.

I used to like black but now I seem to prefer the silver--looks classier. As long as it is not too shiny though---more matte finish

I ought the HK 635 and at that time hated all silver components but loved the way the receiver looked. So in my electronics stand I have the receiver on top with the black at the top and the silver at the bottom of the receiver. So all electronics under the receiver are now silver and boy is it easy to find silver components much easier than black it seems. Also, my TV has a 2 inch border around the screen of flat black but then all the surround around that is silver and the combination looks great. This is another reason why I had to have the RTi Line of speakers because of the combo factor. However I can not vote for both so I guess overall just silver because it stands out enough to read any printed writing on the units And looks great next to black. But all the lights on the components have to be BLUE we can make a second post for that so whoever started this post can have something to do next week.

I must admit I realize dI have mixed components in the garage.
My Kenwood rcvr and pioneer amp are silver but the pioneer cd player is black.
All components are there till their ultimate retirement so it is no big deal.

Personally I perfer a mix of Silver and black. Like my Rotel Silver gear mixed with black heat sinks on the sides, it looks nice . Not ot mention that not all Silver gear looks the same. When I got my Panamax Max5500 Serge Protector, I was going to get the silver model but the silver was off from the Rotel silver off from the Cablebox silver. Rotels silver matches my stand (Salamander tripple 20) the poles are silver and they look good together.

I voted for GOLD. If all of my components were gold, that would be golden. I'm really speaking of the Champagne color, not the bright gaudy gold.

The best looking piece of gear I ever owned was a Musical Fidelity pre-amp. It was silver with gold trim. Absolutely stunning. It was the only component I hated to let go.

The best looking black gear is McIntosh.

A combo of silver, black and gold would be nice, too. Right now I have a combof silver and black on both systems.

I like silver. Gold doesn't look horrible with silver but I think I like plain silver better. Black shows dust too easily and that drives me insane. I wouldn't change the vinish on my components for anything. Plus, blue LEDs look awesome with sliver.

I like to mix it up, a little silver here a little black there. Mainly I like my 2-channel system to be silver, all the silver matches and it looks good with the Gallos.

All my bedroom components are in black. I like silver. Dont you remember the good ol days when you can go into an audio showeroom, tell the sales person - I'll take it ! And then they would ask "silver or black" ? and I would respond "Frog Green". (Got some very interesting looks to that response back then.)

But seriously, back then in the 80s I liked mixing and matching the component colours because they complimented each other. If you owned a set of components from a single manufacturer, complimenting the silver and black components looked very asthetic (in my oppininon). Does anyone remember when Pioneer was the only manufacture to use a Pine colour on all of their components ?
