    That is insane! Of course an electric guitar is a musical instrument but a computer is not.

    And they may not be singing in some country songs but at least there is a full band playing in the background.

    If these rappers had actual musicians playing actual music rather than ripped off samples or computer generated tones, then I would consider them music.

    Go to clubs or parties and you see people dancing to rap/hip hop music. Could not really do that if it were not music.

    Alot of times you see musicians singing without a live band, does that make what they are singing not music? Just becasue you do not like a certain type of music does not make it non-music.

    If they are singing, then its music. If theyre talking then its talking and not music. If there are instruments being played then its music. If there are only computer generated tones being played then its not music.

    And if you go to clubs, most people are dancing to techno or "remixed" rap songs that have that constant bump bump bump bump going on.
    How they make techno.

    There are some rappers who have had full bands playing in the background, and others who sit there for hours and hours on end, to come up with a beat. I believe ll cool j had a full band playing behind him on mtv unplugged years ago.

    why is an electric guitar any more of a musical instrument than a computer? Both can change their sound, both are enhanced in some way or another, both require skill.

    so by your own definition, some company songs arent music?

    Take a piano, some of the electric ones might as well be a computer because you can play just about anything with em, including guitar melodies.

    Even though I do listen to a little bit of hip hop. I have to agree with Mac rap is not really music.

    People that know about music know how to play a instrument.

    Hell alot of people can sing but that don't mean they know anything about music.

    They may not be singing in some country songs but there are still guitars, bass guitars, drums, pianos and other instruments being played thus, its still music.

    If you dont see that an electric guitar is a musical instrument and a computer is not, then there is no point in even discussing it.
