I hate getting into these threads, but....die hard Steeler fan since 1986.
It wasn't until the plague of Kordell Stewart passed, that they began to evolve again.
We have arrived. This SB will define the end result. The 1996 appearance was a clusterf*ck, but they, who will forever be unmentioned, won.
I wish the Seahawks luck and commend them on their first ever attendance. That's really cool and speaks volumes for the coaching staff and players.
I THINK this will be a more than emotional event for both teams, with penalties on the Steelers being the higher end. I would hope that they can check that motivation and enthusiasm and be smart.
The passing and rushing game is a wash, it just depends on who shuts it down first, and stops the momentum of the game. A single interception could change the flow and it will be interesting to see how the losing team reacts.
I will be drunk and happy, or drunk and beating a pillow for hours crying why oh why did I drink in the first place.

For the last week here in Pittsburgh, there has been radio and newspaper ads for Detroit night clubs, casinos, "gentlemen's" clubs and everything else imaginable. Gambling, drinking, and wild women. I haven't been to Detroit for about 20 years. It sounds like it's turned into a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah. Why am I here talking on this Forum?
GO STEELERS!Carl -
If I'm the Steelers, I have Polamalu assigned to Alexander on every play. On the Seahawk side, I run straight ahead. Remember, Denver averaged over 4 yards a carry doing that.
If Alexander runs, Seahawks have a chance (they still have to figure how to stop Porter and Haggens on the pass rush), if not, Steelers get #5.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))

I'm not gonna say the officials cost the Seahawks the game, but that was the worst officiated Super Bowl I've seen. Seattle had some chances to get in the endzone and they didn't. Still trying to figure out their play calling to end the first half.

By far. Don't have that bogus **** holding call and they more than likely score a touchdown and it's a totally different game with Seattle in the lead.
I'm glad I didn't have a dog in this fight, Seahawk fans have every right to be incredibly pissed. -
Who didn't see all this coming....bad call this, bad call that....so typical of the losing end. I have more respect for Seattle after this game then I EVER did prior to this game. The only bad calls were the play calls by the losing team at the end of both halves. They blew it, pure and simple...

"More than likely score a touchdown" there is a real big assumption. There were bad calls both ways though, but nothing I thought was outlandishly bad, outcome affecting calls. Seattle had chances to win, but did not do enough to do so. They moved the ball well in the first half and amassed a whopping 3 points. While he did score a touchdown, Jeramy Stephens sucked with all his drops. I think he's a pretty solid player, but it definitely wasn't his night. And Shaun Alexander statistically was alright (20 for 95), but if it was your first time seeing him, you'd never guess he was the MVP. -
The Seahawks had the highest scoring offense in the NFL. Today they scored 11 points, can't blame that on the refs. Shawn Alexander had 95 yards, can you remember a meaningful run that he had. Big plays win big games. Seahawks had one big play on defense. Zero on offense. There only toughdown came from when they started on the Pitt 18 yd line. Their dink and dunk offense could not sustain them. Their offense scored 3 points, give their only touchdown to the defense. Their offense put the ball in but their defense put them in position. Their tight end Stevens could hear Joey Porter's footsteps all day. Proof they a little trash talk can shake a marginal player. Pittsburgh played their worst game of their last seven. But it was still enough to beat the Hawks and cover the spread. I think both teams are better than the effort they showed today. The Seahawks have a great coach and a solid organization. They'll be back to play again another day. Probably better off in the long run for this dissapointing loss. Steelers were nothing special today, but good enough to beat the Hawks!
