Maybe we should take up a collection?

Man, for Mark to bag THAT blowtorch. We'd have to kneel down in front of it, and say a prayer or something before we listen to it.

Mark, you got an empty zero interest CC? Those Manley's would get you 1/5th of the way there. Thinking outloud.

    If you gotta ask...

Bob Crump was a legend of audio design. Have you heard of Parasound? He did alot of their circuitry design.

He teamed up with two other audio legends and they formed CTC (Crump-Thompson-Curl). Very good stuff.

I would think that you, of all people, would respect my admiration of a piece of gear.

ROI and audio used in the same sentence creates a default oxymoron. However, the value to the right collector (at some point in the future) can't be underestimated. Personally, I buy the collectibles that fire my rocket (mostly musical instruments, some audio) at the best price I can negotiate with the intent of holding them for the long haul.

Putting the CTC combo together is the same to me as rebuilding a classic car with all the numbers matching. Not cheap, but the long term value is immeasurable.

seems this is about the collector's item factor as much as the great sound (for that price, it better sound good :) )

we allways say "hey, that will be the last (type of equipment) you ever buy" this will be the closest to that statement not being a line of crap. where do you go from Bob Crump's personal friggin preamp?

Doro, talk to that seller and get a number you can work with, you have to at least try.- good luck brotha!

I do understand the depth of your devotion Doro, and under most circumstances would not question it. But you gotta eat.

The AR stuff that I covet, and coveted, would not be under my roof if I had to pay street prices. I have the stuff that I admired most due to the kindness of my friends, and only because of them.
