On the the back of my Cary integrated it has a right and left sub out.
I hooked the sub cable up to one side, ran it to the back of my new SVS PB-10, and let her warm up for 30 min..
Poped in a CD and turned her up..

No sound from the sub...what gives..?

    it`s a integrated 2 ch amp/pre..
as far as I know it`s always on

I was wondering if the signal has to come from both sides (L/R) for it to work

Doubtful that both the l&r would need to be hooked up. Have you ruled out a problem with the sub?

The Sub Out Is Most Likely Just A Second Set Of Full Range Outputs, Try Hooking Up You Main Power Amp To Them And See It You Have A Signal Coming Out
    Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
    Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
    ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
    Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
    Outlaw ICBM - crossover
    Beringher BFD - sub eq

Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

After which if you are getting a signal you might hook her up the Polk way using the high level inputs and see if the sub works. I am of course giving you all the credit of not being a newb and figuring you plugged it in Bear!!

i know you probably aready tried it. but did you try both left and right sub outs? how about on the rear of the SVS? I just got a subwoofer, and it has a left and right inputs on the rear of it.. and i could only get sound when i used the right input. the left wasn't working or something.

also turn your subwoofer to "ON" and not standby.

    I tried allof the above..
L/R..only has one input on back of sub, works great on the other gear...
It`s in the on position...I tried it all..no sound

bummer..I really wanted to hear it on the Cary..

Any chance you need to set your source to 2 channel vs. 5.1?

I know, I meant CD player. My Pioneer allows me to select 2 channel or multi-channel via the OSD.
