Take it easy tough guy, just adding to your comment with some additional information.
It wasn't an attack on you personally Mr. Sensitive.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
SK
Doro is a wealth of info, and he does not hesitate to give it out when the need arises, I cant figure out why you took it so negativly. It was easy to see from my standpoint that hostility or sarcasm was not his intent here. trust me,
when Doro is being sarcastic, he leaves no window of doubt to that affect. this was not one of those moments.
We have a free flow of info here, please try to keep that in mind and not take it the wrong way.Living Room 2 Channel -

Thank you very much for the Vifa info SK & Mark. However, I honestly don't care were the tweeter comes from or who makes it. I just know that it dosen't hurt my ears when listening for extended periods of time at loud volumes.
Ohskigod is correct, there is no need to get defensive when others add to the volume of knowledge on this board, and Mark is a very valuable & knowlegeble member of this board. All information shared is good!
Yes Ted, there is nothing like the shiny warm reflection of light off of the top of a pair of LSI 15's and the powerful life like sound that emotes from them when being powered by a Parasound 1500A!
I have continued reading the comments of the fellow over at the Rotel board. And he has pretty much said that he loves the 1077 for home theater. Which is precisely what it is being marketed & sold as.
It just didn't make sense that he would love this amp for any kind of musical listening!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -

makes sence, I like my theater on the neutral side for movies, but my music I like a more rich and warm tone to it (its why I got tubes....I said TUUUUUUUUBES...LOL just kiddin. )Living Room 2 Channel -

Ms. Cat, one day you will get tubed!!!!!!!!! Most likely when you least expect it. Until then enjoy the transistors! I am however, most persistant and in the words of Sir Winston Churchill:
"Up with this, I will not put".
Actually, a grammatically correct dangling participle.

Then there was the participle dangling over the split infinitive.

All right you guys, quit giving me a headache!

The guy on Club Rotel is running Klipsch RF7s speakers off of the 1077 & swears by it.
I don't know squat about Klipsh speakers so I don't know if they are in the same catagory as B&W.
CFrizz..
I think you're talking about DrJerryRappaport...
Hahah.. I'm on that board too. He is selling his 1077 for some upper level gear - perhaps Classe or Krell. He also sold his Klipsch RF7 and now has the Martin Logan Summits (the one over mine.... that ****!)....
Anyway, I'll be looking at the RB1090 soon to round out my system. One day, as Madmax predicted, I'm sure you'll match or beat my system and you'll become another one of us audio freaks.Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R -
Yup it's Jerry Rappaport I'm talking about. I'm not surprised he's selling the 1077, it's awful. With his level of equipment & stuff I just couldn't see why he thought it was so great.
I'll never say never, but it is a loooooooong way away!
I have more pressing priorities right now!

Seriously, IMHO tube gear kicks a$$. Try something used and inexpensive off of eBay or Agon. Only your own personal experience can dictate where you go from there.Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro
HT: Samsung QN90B * Marantz NR1510 * Panasonic DMP-BDT220 * Roku Ultra LT * APC H10 -
WAAA! I'm very happy that all you tube heads love your gear. I'm just a SS kind of a gal!
All I want is a 5 channel 200-250 watt amp that I can actually lift & move, and a 5 speaker set of LSI's!
But like I said I have higher priorities right now, & besides my system sounds GREAT as it is!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -
You're a lady??
WOW.....
Women usually have better taste than men in a lot of life's things be it decorating, style, shoes... and seeing several lady audiophile setups humble many men's audio setups is testament to that. An audiophile woman is one not to be messed with.
I bet you will have a super setup one day... . Dont forget about us.Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R -
