congrats on your SVS. everyone always claims once they see the 20-39PCi how much bigger it is than in the picture. glad your wife is open to good high quality sound.

Gotta pass on the Yamaha. Spending freeze. The Acoustats 2+2's went higher than I was willing to go too, so the spending freeze is intact.

Unfortunately, still waiting on the pre amp Francesco. New design, lots of tweaks along the way. Hopefully it ships next week. Or I go get it. LOL

Could be. Maybe March 10-14, in Montreal. Peter McAlister will have a suite at the trade show and debut his new gear. Still waiting for my prototype...

How come the wife didn't turn around for the picture of the back of the speaker.

Careful. You don't want to get it into her head the notion of replacing little things with bigger ones. You're establishing a dangerous precedent. One day you bring home an SVS and the next day she brings home someone from the NBA. Happens all of the time.

    Peersool,

You absolutely rock... and I am sure your new SVS does too. Thank your wife for us all. It gave a good perspective of how large that monster actually is. I hope you enjoy it. I definitely enjoy mine.

I bought the 25-31 PCi from Alexis Park, put it in the car and drove it home. I LOVE it. Great service and nice people. My friends mouths hang open when they hear it.

    Peersol buddy,

Perhaps you should do a little review of the SVS? I would like to hear what you think of it from a more in-depth perspective.

You know how a thunderstorm shakes the crap out of everything and, at times, can be a little scary? IMHO the 20-39 PCi is a man made thunderstorm. I can't even imagine what a PCi Plus or Ultra would be like.

20-39+ - Incredibles rocket launch, -10 reference, 111db, 1/3 gain, -6 trim. Way too loud for my room, but I had to grin. The only difference between the ISD driver and Plus driver, I hear, is definition, it's subtle. Probably a couple more dbs of output(headroom) with the larger amp. Most seem to prefer it in 16hz tune, but I don't...go figure.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

My wife chose the cylinder design, also....I opted for the 25-31 model...I mentioned in the comments to tune it to 22hz...

I wonder if she realizes how big it is going to be :D

But as soon as I get my RT800i's and set those up with the sub, she'll understand

Before this, I had 13 year old Inifinty bookshelves and a Velo CHT-8

and people thought I had an awesome system...lol
