All of these are too obsure for me...never heard a single track from any of them (unless it was on the radio and I was not aware of the artist or album) I was able to guess the Japan album ONLY after the clues and remembered a band by the name and did a quick search.

    and the list expands...

Ozric Tentacles / The Bits Between the Bits & Sliding Gliding Worlds

Crush / Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark

    The Jam / Setting Sons

    Ministry Twitch

The Good Rats / Birth Comes To Us All

New Order / Blue Monday .

My library of CDs and LPs may be approaching 2,000 and I think I have a fairly good knowledge of music...but these guys just keep adding to the list of stuff I've never heard of.

I think it is cool that Rich and Blake have such a broad spectrum of musical tastes....but its pretty obvious that a lot of us don't move in the same muscial "circles" (little play on words there ).

I know Rich and the guys get together with their "listening" meets where everybody brings some music they like that others may not be familiar with....which is a great idea and a really good way to expand your musical horizons.

I've been listening to a lot of college radio lately and heard some decent to pretty good music...but often I have no idea what the name of the group is much less what the album looks like (or even if there is anything besides a digital master of the music). Times...they are a changin'...

Maybe someone will post a cover from someone a little more "mainstream" like Led Zeppelin or the Beatles and I can get back in the game....

I've always been obsessed with cover art (almost pedantically so) which helps me in games like this. If I see an album cover, I typically remember it forever. I've also hand scanned in all of my CDs artwork over the years (which adds up) so I'm familiar with items that way as well.

Music, more than audio, is my real passion and addiction. I like the gear aspect of our hobby as much as the next guy, but I'd rather be spending money on music than gear. Most of the articles I read are about music, not gear. That may be the same way with others here as well, but I've finally found the sound I'm looking for as far as equipment is concerned (for the most part), and I've been focused on buying as much music as possible lately.

Hint for the last cover: the person who released the album was once a member of a very influential 60/70s rock band from New York with a close association with a famous pop artist.

As was discussed in another thread...I have expanded my musical listening horizions...I just haven't necessarily fully embraced what I hear. Not that it is bad...I just don't find a lot of it that wows my senses. When I hear something I like...it is usually an immediate reaction/recognition. Stuff RARELY grows on me. In the past 15-20 years "likes" have been much fewer than my dislikes when it comes to the broad category of "rock". Still some good stuff being made however...just harder to find...IMO.

Ditto… For the record, Spock, I've been interested as well… should have smilied my tennis comment. I’d actually seen two (the Sergio Mendes and one other), but couldn’t retrieve the info.

I hear you shack. I don’t like everything I am introduced to, but a good percentage results in purchases. The covers I recently posted all reside in my music server or in my vinyl collection, while just some of Blake’s do. I like album art too so that is all filed away. I just don’t have the retrieval skills I once had.

And yes, a timely choice of covers.

    Anyway, back to the past.

Aha! I only got it because I recognized the dice in the second small picture. I knew it was Bad Co., but then I had to figure out what album it was.

    Bad Company / 10 from 6

We did two covers previously from Bad Company in this game. One was Desolation Angels, which is the second strip clip from the bottom. While they named the album 10 from 6, there were no tracks from Burnin' Sky, so it should have been 10 from 5. The first six albums were on Swan Song Records.

    from post 570, Desolation Angels.

I must admit that it's not one of my favorite releases by the band (that honor goes to Word of Mouth with my very favorite song by the band, "Living on a Thin Line") but it's still a classic.
