Anyone using a AVS 2000 voltage stabilizer?

I am looking at picking up a Monster AVS2000 signature series voltage stabilizer from an aquaintance.
(yes I know how we all feel about monster and their f*cking business policies)
It's a used unit so Monster already got their money.
Question is:
I've heard the older AVS2000's made a clicking noise as they worked to stabilize the power,
and I'm wondering if the newer Signature series does the same thing?

Still clicks, not very loud and not very often. Actually mine clicks whenever I turn all of the system on, and just before the AC kicks in during the summer. Thats about it, never hear it click during a movie, or when listening to music.

I don't really know to much about their bus. practice, don't really care, what I do know is that their stuff is priced high, but leaves a larger margin for "getting a deal". I have never purchased any of their cables, IC's, or even their 2250 Power Amp anywhere close to retail....
What I can say as a positive to their audio products is that they are built well. I have never had a problem with their conditioners, and that amp is built like a tank and has replaced my long standing Parasound HCA-1500 in doing the duties for the L/R channel.....
I am currently scouring audiogon, ebay etc. for a "deal" on the AVS-2000, and hopefully it will do the duty it is intended to do and keep the power at 120. When all things are powered in my HT, I have seen dips as low as 108 Volts on my HTS-5100..
If that don't do the trick, then getting a dedicated circuit for my front room will be in order, (should of did this long ago)

That is good to hear that the "clicking" noise is not obvious anymore.
Scott, I'm curious what you would call a "deal" as far as the cost of the Signature AVS 2000 ?
I see them often from a specific seller for $579. plus $99. shipping.

i dont even notice the clicking noise any more and i like mine consistantly minus' 2 to 3 volts out of my system as i run a bit hot where i live but when i crank up some music or a movie the juice is sucked up and bam voltage added but i gots to be really cranking it up. i have had my avs 2000 and htps 7000 signuture series for about a year and thought that the extra lights would bother me but after about a couple months i got used to them and quit watching the stabilizer read out :-)Speakers:

Fix your electrical problem. Don't put a bad bandaid on it. The monster avs2000 in my opnion sucks ****. I have installed it many times and found nothing better with it in place.
20 amp circuit would be ideal.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -

I couldn't agree with you more on the fact that I need a 20 amp circuit, or anyone for that matter that runs separate amps as well as everthing else A/V on a single line.
And I haven't had any real first hand knowledge on using the AVS, except for the displays at the A/V stores.
From what I have seen, (taking it for what its worth), they had their conditioner hooked up to the stabilizer, with their 2 ch. and 3 ch. monster amp, and the stabilizer was keeping the voltage around 120 +/- 1 volt consistently.
With that said, I have been knows to buy crap I see at trade shows, and I think the only thing that I am still using is the Absorber, (fake chamois), now they are selling in every Kragen, Pep Boys etc.
All right, someone else that is using one please chime in. I can't base a decision on one bad review...

I am already running two dedicated 20 amp breakers, one to the theater, and one to the 2 channel room.
Even so, doesn't current ebb and flow at different rates, which realisticly probably won't be noticed unless it's a big surge.
It sounds like a good thing, but don't know if it's really necessary.
High cool factor in looks though.
Others with opinions, let's hear 'em.

Sorry Dan but I'll take the opinion of stereophile first. Plus, I own a 2000 and beyond the cool factor it DOES make a difference.

I don't care for power conditioners. I realize it can help some rigs, but it's really only a less expensive band-aid on a bigger ac issue.
A true balanced power supply is where it's at.

I have experienced many different power sources. That said, I can't figure out what true balanced power actually means. Sounds like BLING ta me but I'm willing to listen.
