OK in around 1983 I bought my first decent stereo,it was an nad receiver, and i wish i could remember the model number,it was their cheapest unit at the time...$300 it was only like 23 watts rms...if anybody can give me a model number,i would appretiate it,maybe a 63something...anywho,a dual turntable with a signet cartridge, and a set of sears lxi speakers, they had the same makeup as vega d9's...BIG! It rocked, anyway in 1985 or 86 my speakers were stolen, all i could afford were some monitor 5jrs...hello!Since then ive always owned a set of polks...i had others at the same time, but youll always find some polks in the househow about you?

First system I settled on in college was a pair of Cerwin Vega D7's with a Kenwood Reciever. (two channel of course) When I started my first real job my first major purchase a pair of SDA 1b's. (I still have them)

Many years later when I got into HT I purchased a set of Polk rm-6600 and an Onkyo AVR. It was only a year or so after joining club polk that I am at my current system. (thanks guys.. :D:D)

My first pair of Polks were RT5's around 1997 (I think). They're set up in my parent's room now with NAD seperates.

A few years after the RT5, I got a pair of RT800i. A few years after that I got a pair of LSi9. I had to sell the 800i's because I needed cash but still have my LSi9.

If CA polks count, I got my first set of when I was 16. I installed a set of EX10's in my vehicle, which shall remain nameless. Then I upgraded and put some coaxial 5.25 db's(vintage 1997-couldn't afford the awsome components). I suplemented the coax's with a db10-4 and a fosgate amp. My friends all had "loud" systems, but I had a very high "quality" system that sounded much more full than the junk they were using.

HA: I got my first set of bookshelf speakers during my freshman year in college. CC was closing out the first RT series, so I got a pair of display RT5's for what I considered to be a good price($200). They have been passed down to my two younger brothers at different times, but they are still in the family. I used those off and on from 1998-2004. I picked up a set of RT1000's from CC during Christmas of 2003, but had many problems with them-amp going out-and then CC broke the cabinet all to pieces. I didn't know about the forum or Polk's CS at the time. That is why I had the problems at CC.
Went several months with the RT5's again, then purchasd my first set of LSi7's. Used them for several months and sold them to my brother to get a little money and downgrade. Picked up a set of RTi28's and a CSi40 around May of this year, but sold them around July.
Went Polkless(and audioless) until this week when I got my second set of LSi7's. I plan to keep these around a little longer than the first pair, but you never know what might happen.

I might have missed a pair or two in there, but that is the majority of my Polk history to date.

A pair of RT2000p's, which I still have. It's been downhill, for the bank account, ever since...

My first Polks were RT7s, and I still have them. They sound as good (better) now as when I first got them nearly ten years ago.

My first Polks were my Monitor 4 Series 2's, bought in 1992. I still have 'em, though they're about to go to a friend I gave a set of 5jr's to, he's giving me a pair of Celestion Ditton 44's for 'em. Great speakers, but I never use them now. Only Polks I'll have then are my 7B's in the upstairs system and the old db-series 6.5" coaxials in my car.

I'll probably always have Polks around, they're fine loudspeakers. I'm itching to hear a pair of LSi 15's, not that I can afford 'em, but I've always wanted to hear them. Pity the only place that has them in Madison only has HT receivers for electronics, so they can't be properly lit up...

LS50's. $800 for the pair. That was around 1996 or so. Awesome HT speakers but I never liked them for music. I had them matched with the CS350LS center which was $400 by itself and one of the original Velodyne subs.

SDA 2B - $300. Still one of my favorites of the (far too many) speakers in the house. With recent Xover upgrades, they're giant killers.

My first pair was a very minty pair of RTA 8TLs, that I still use for movies. But my first REAL pair of Polks are my SDA 2Bs. As of right now, I have SDA SRS 2s and 2Bs, Monitor 10As and 7As, and the RTA 8TLs. Only the 10As aren't being utilized at this time.

Still remember your 2000p's story. I had the chance to hear them once and they kicked butt. Hell even the 1000's impressed me and almost bought a pair.

Have you auditioned any other powered towers that sound better?

First Polk speaker for me was a single 6x9" GXR car speaker I bought from Circuit City on an open box. It found its way to a custom speaker enclosure I made for my motorcycle. :D

RT5's and they sounded great at the ceiling in opposite ends of the room firing straight at each other. A few years later I went back for something bigger and all they sold was Klipsch so I wound up with them.
I live in a city of a million plus and it's hard to find a Polk dealer especially one that stocks the big ones.

I've had 3 pairs, my first set were Polk SDA-CRS's. I then had a pair of Monitor 12's and finally a pair of Monitor 5jr's I used while stationed in Izmir, Turkey.

I've had 3 pair... First were a pair of thrift shop 5jr's in 2001 (why I joined), paid $15 for them, and then dropped $60 in new tweeters. Parted out at Polkfest because the cabs were worthless.

Second was a pair of Monitor 10's I bought, oh, 2 years ago or so for $150 from a one-post seller here on the boards. Sold for $150 to my brother a week or two ago. BECAUSE...

Third are my SDA2's, purchased from philpfeif for $175. A worthwhile upgrade :D

First pair....was actually a pair of RT15is. Only because they were ordered first for a 5.1 HT rig with RT55is and CS245i (replaced by a CS400i) soon to follow. Next came the RT25is, RT400s, and finally SDA-1Cs.

My first set of polks was a mint pair of SDA-SRS 1.2's which I powered with some professional amps. It took me 3 years to figure out what they should sound like though. I had them right next to a wall and had no clue of the wonderful sound they could produce. One day I moved them around and found out. WOW!!!
