well, in my mind, if u were running it on too low a resistance it could work, but eventually itll heat up and cook if its not designed for that resistance, causing a failure/short and blowing the fuse. But thats just me.

Well, the fuse was a more powerfull (can handle more) than it was suppose to, im sure the amp is just crap, the brand is some genaric one? im not going to check now, but i know that ts very ****.

if u put a fuse of higher value than what was in there, then u definitely broke it, that fuse is a certain value for a reason, if u replace it with a bigger value ur letting in more current than the guts of the amp can handle, which is bad. The fuse is supposed to limit the current by breaking the circuit if too much goes through

kinda reminds me of the old "how many people can we cram into a VW bug" competition, sure u can fit a lot of people, but then u cant drive it, and to me, a car is meant to be driven... I dunno, im too old fashioned for that stuff

I have to admit, i like the first car, albeit audioblah'd, but its far more artistic in my mind, like a "show" car should be :) I wonder how comfortable glass seats are...

as for ur second post, If u determine that the amp is the problem, by taking the speaker its hooked to and trying that speaker on another amp (its a process of elimination, if u find that the sub works on another amp then the speaker isnt the problem.)
if the amp stopped working, and the fuse is still good, that means one or more of the following:
    1. the amp isnt getting power from the battery
    2. the amp doesnt have anywhere for the power to go (ground connection to the body)
    3. the amp is dead (rare, but possible)
Now since u said that u replaced the original fuse in the amp, lets say it was a 10 amp fuse, with a higher rated 15 amp fuse, then the circuits inside were exposed to more power from the battery than theyre able to handle, prettymuch frying them. so its the rare #3 scenario.

OK, but i replaced the fuse like 3 or 4 times because every time i went to turn the radio on the fuse would blow with a bright blue flash, even the over power fuses blew!! Im pretty sure the power source going into the amp has just fryed :( Oh well the amp was cheap, like $30 at a yard sale, it served its time.
