    KDC-MP5028- Kenwood deck

    Phoenix Gold speaker wire

Alpine 6-1/2" Type-R Coaxial 2-Way Speakers- SPR17LP-, in side doors

Alpine 5x7" Type R speakers -SPR-574A-, in the back.

2 Alpine type R subwoofers in custom box

    1000 watt Alpine -MRD-M1005- AMP

    -Price invested- Over 1500$

Not the absolute best, but it works like a champ, you can hear it from like 2 or 3 blocks away from your stand point.

ok, thanks for the pic, all i wanted to know was the ohm rating :) ud want something 2 ohm stable like this:
    http://www.crutchfield.com/S-wcw6eD18bH0/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=100&I=489AP700M
its not overly expensive and comes highly reccomended by many a Club Polk member :) Since its 2 ohm stable you just connect the positive terminal from the amp to BOTH of the positives on the speaker, same for the negative. Simple and effective.

    System in the works: ;)
    PP 6V6 with 12ax7 pre ~ 20 watts
    15" Jensen MOD 8ohm ~ 97db SPL
    DiMarzio HS3 and/or Tone Zone S

s'okay, i use lots of ellipsi... see?...

SL - the coils are 4 ohm always, but the way you wire them (i.e. running from the positive lead of the amp to one positive of the sub, then from there to the other positive lead of the sub, so they're both hooked up - ditto negative) allows the amp to 'see' 2 ohms... and no, that $711 sony is way not worth it... i think they picked seven-eleven for a reason... :p

i couldn't find any reviews (that's a 12 year old sub, that is), but from the specs, it seems to be average at best...

oooo an unheard woofer.. dont expect too much if its never been used, probably still needs a break in, until the suspension and all gets nice and loose it isnt going to give its best performance, just like any athlete, it needs to "stretch out" :D

Nah, i have kind of skipping past that every day, if you know what i mean, plus the project im working on is a grand father clock right now........

There is bad news though, well at least for me, i was listining to that x-plod, out of the blues, it just cuts off???? WTF??? i replaced the fuse on the amp because it was toast, and still no sound from anything, the LED lights up for a second and then fades away???? damn it!!! is there such thing as a sub that just quits? with no signs? i mean this thing only has about 5 to 10 hours of music playing on it??

i asked that question because u may have run the amp at 2 ohms and it wasnt meant for it, that would blow the protection (fuse) and may cause damage to the amp's guts.

shouldn't have, the fuse is supposed to protect the guts... i'm assuming you've rechecked power and ground connections?
