I'm running my 1.2TLs with a Denon 5803A. If the nominal ohm is 6, then they're getting about 200 RMS each. Before the Denon I had a Pioneer VSX-906S rated at 100 RMS. While I know the Denon can't compare to most mono or stand alone amps, it sure did wake them up.

I've decided to stick with the Denon for now as I really don't want to get evicted from my apartment. :)) As it is now, I've had the manager come over as she could "feel" the music in her apartment that is down the hall about 50' or so. That was just with 2ch music. Good thing I didn't have the PSW-650 on!

If I'm wrong here, please do say so....I think that any amp that can provide clean power (and dynamic power) for your listening level is good enough. I was told that high current amps are the minimum to look for. My understanding is my Denon is a high current unit, and by the size of what I believe to be a capacitor in the center of the unit, I think it is. :)

    Welcome to the forum.

Nice set up, nothing better than Musical Fidelity and SDA 2.3TL's. :D

I see you still have the SL3000's. Polk now sells a silk dome replacement tweeter, the RD0198-1, which is smoother and has more detail than the originals. I highly recommend you try them.

Yeah, what are those black circles on your speakers???

The black circle things are made of ebony wood,it's act like some kind of tweaks for you to tune your systems. In my system with this tweaks added, the mid become warmer and the high sweeter and smoother. You can try to add some small copper coins on top of your tweeter(one each) and hear what the different. In my system the high goes ever higher but turn to a little bit brighter, and this what I don't like.
Where can I buy the tweeters and how much it costs? Can you post the specifications here?

That's what I thought at first, then I saw Jesse's post and wondered if I misinterpreted, because to be honest, I never really noticed the one's on the SDAs til after Jesse's comment.:o :D

It's amazing the wealth of knowledge in these forums.

My HT is humble and soon to be needing some changes. After years of faithfull service I was doing some checking and realized that there was a humm in my sub (blown driver), odd rear sound field (loss of a rear channel on my JVC receiver) and non existent midbass from the working surround (dead M2 driver). :( Guess I have some replacing to do.
    HT in training:
    JVC RX-888VBK
    JVC XV-M555
    Polk RT12
    Polk CS250S
    Polk M2

SDA-2b's ( that where in storage for years ) .
I have a surround setup for the system , but never use it .

I read about the replacment tweeters on the SDA 2b , is it really worth replacing and how much is each tweeter .

    Ty,

We're not talking much money here and the only way for you to really know what they sound like is to buy them. Having said that, you can expect a far superior high end, so much so that you'll think you bought new speakers.
