You can thank what's left of Hillcrest Hi Fidelity in Dallas for that. One of the great local HiFi shops that Tweeter has bought, and literally destroyed.

Same here. Now! Audio Video was a high-end audio store with (mostly) caring, knowledgeable, personable employees. Now that there's a Tweeter sign out front...I sure don't wanna buy anything there...

Hmm...after actually reading the rest of the tread...

I do wanna go to a Tweeter and listen to the Krell stuff. I can't say as I've ever even seen any. I've also heard they're getting Focal speakers and a few other high-end brands. Should make for an interesting drool session...I mean, uhh, listening session...

Jeeze Dan, if you are going to dream, why not shoot for something, like, oh, Halcro and Burmeister ( flipping my flava o' the month chart furiously )? Mine is....hold on, (flip..flip) Triangle Magellans....and....Wavac.

Wire lacking at Tweeter? Ya think?

I'm just hacking on you, Dan. It's so cute that you take yourself so seriously.

Give me a effing break. Troy is right about you and your flavor of the month. Besides, there's a lot more than Krell out there, some better, some worse, but a lot more.

Isn't there any products out there that over time has proved time and time again there worth to you? The gear you dream of owning one day? The gear that drives you?

It's called progession. It's called upgrading , it's called getting where you want to be.I upgrade my system alot, as you guys can see that. I also work in the field and get to see our hobby everyday. You can also call it getting to the next level.....call it whatever you want.

For you and anyone else, sure there is tons of stuff out there to be explored and possibly had ,I have been down this path many many times and have listened to more gear then most will in a lifetime. Krell is where I want to be. Pioneer,Yamaha , Pioneer Elite , Denon , B&K and now Rotel is all steps in that direction.Moving up from Rotel isn't easy. Rotel in my opnion is as good as B&K , Adcom , Anthem ,NAD ,Sunfire ,Intergra research, etc. Getting to the level of sonic perfection that I'm looking for brings me to Krell. Is there something wrong with Krell that I should know about????

Also I like many other things like Classe, McIntosh or Lexicon. I could see myself owning one of these if Krell can't be had.I have a deep passion for these brands as well but not like Krell. I would own Krell over everything made. The deal is this.. you may not see Krell like I do, You and Troy may not upgrade your systems as much as I do, thats all fine to me as everyone is different and likes thing for there reasons.Troy thinks Carver is the be all end all , I personally think Carver sucks ****, but I don't go around telling Troy to get rid of Carver and there is alot of things out there he should be using instead. Thats not for me to say. If Troy is tickled by Carver, thats great and I'm happy for him.I don't go out of my way to start crap with him or anyone else for that matter anymore.Troy now you seem to have all this time to do so.Have fun with it.

    Your so cute Dan....

The point is, you act as if something on the display shelf is your personal property. It's HILARIOUS. There is nothing wrong with Krell, but there is other stuff out there that Tweeter doesn't carry.

Far as Jesse goes, his gear? It's upgradable, I suppose, but then you'd be talking about gear that costs more than a nice NEW car.

Far as Carver sucking ****, entirely your opinion and I'm not spun up about it, especially since you know nothing about it. Oh, you might want to check out the CJ and Jolida gear that I have....it's pretty sweet.

By BB do you mean Best Buy? What mid and high end gear does your Best Buy carry? Just curious, because none of the BB in my area have anything close to resembling mid-fi let alone high end gear.

    TroyD,
I wasn't intended to rip on Carver due to the fact I don't care for it and you do. It was a point that it doesn't matter what gear one ownes, its about if it works for the person who owns it. As your understanding goes, it's better to have more then just one flavor of ice cream.
I saw awhile back you got Cj and Jolida , nice job man. I bet it sounds great.

I was going to take a picture of the Best Buy near my place because I about fell over when I turned the corner and saw the HT store (Magnolia) planted inside a BB.......the feel is rich and the product selection is a notch above what the typical BB consumer would be buying. These Best Buys also have their own TV departments, but not to the level that the Magnolia 'store' has.

Magnolia Hi FI is almost finished in Princeton NJ. They look to be heading in the same direction as Tweeter. Best buy could be more a better place if they do it right. I'll be keeping my eye on them. There showroom is fantastic. I also like the choice of gear they selected. They did something I feel is better then Tweeter, they carry Audioquest cables. I would love the day we step up and carry something other then Monster and now Pro solutions. We are getting higher end gear so I hope higher end wire follows.

    Hi Troy,
I noticed some of the older Carver amps have outputs that simulate tube sound. Have you tried any of these amps? Do they really sound like tubes? If they're that good, I may want to try one out.
