Pffftt..! Need to vent:

While setting this thing up, I noticed the sub pre-out rca is missing the internal ground thingy...it's hollow.

Ok...turned it on to find out the surround left channel is dead.

WTF?

Waiting for a reply from harmanaudio...

Thanks for reading/listening.

I feel your pain, been there ,done that,s**t usually happens for a reason, wish that I had some words of wisdom, but patience is not one of my better virtues. Just recently, my brother FRIED one of my adcom amps while he was auditioning my klipschorn speakers for sale,, Oh well.

At least it's FROM HK. They'll make it right - no excuse, and it will mean you need to wait a little longer, but at least it's not some schiester on ebay, who tells you to go F yourself.

    Cheers,

I was prepared for maybe a surface scratch or something like that, but to have a bad amp when it was supposed to have been gone through during the reman just irks me.

They'll take care of it, just be patient. I know it's hard to be patient, but not being only gets you more pissed and gets you nowhere. Didn't you buy another?

    George,
I remember that about your bro, but I didn't know it was KHorns. How does someone blow an Adcom with Khorns???? they are very efficient.

You are right, Harman already got in touch with me. They said they escalated my e-mail to the tech dept. I know they will do the right thing but I waited a week for this so I was pissed at first.

Like you said, I will just have to wait a little longer. I know it will work out..

I just hate the fact that I was one of the ones that recommended the thing to you. But i'm sure once H/K makes it right for you, then you will be satisified. =)

Andrew, the 235 sounds great otherwise. Nice and warm just like my old 225. I am actually running it in 2ch right now.

I know I am going to like it when I get a fully functional one. :D

HK is a decent company, with decent product. Someone just got lazy in the quality control dept.

You'll love the 235, when it works of course... I guarentee it.

Keep an eye on your big blue volume knob, I've seen two of them go bad. You'll go to turn it down a little and it will actually turn up a little, then it gets progressively worse.

Spoke to harmanaudio, pre-paid shipping labels are being sent to my e-mail for the return...exchange is being processed.

I also asked him if they can send the exchange unit through a faster shipping method. It takes 5 days for me to get ups ground from AZ....

I just want to give an update:

The communication from HK was excellent. I spoke to a rep on the phone Friday and 10minutes later, I had a pre-paid UPS 2nd day air label in my e-mail. They also sent me an adjusted receipt showing the old one going back and the exchange coming to me.

I shipped the 235 back to HK this morning. Now I'm just waiting for the exchange unit to arrive.

Overall, HK was excellent in handling this and I would highly recommend them.

HK has good CS, but they seem to be very lax about quality control on their refurbished products.

OK...Now I am getting really pissed off! I went out of my way to have this thing sent back the first thing Mon morning. They received the defective unit on 8/17. I called the rep and he said they processed the return will ship another soon. I just checked my account and it says "We are processing your order and expect to have shipping information for you by: 8/21/2005 " which is a Sun so it really will not be shipped until at least the 22nd. Seriously, WTF? Are they fixing the defective unit to send back to me???? If they were doing an exchange, it really should not take this long as buying from their store on ebay only takes a day to process and ship..

    Mike,

Just call them and make sure they don't send the same unit back to you. You have the serial number right?
