    we put 1 solo x in 2 trunks last week, going to be putting 2 in a tahoe this week. and yes, its the 18" solo x...you should also see 2 we have that were actually blown. it basically soldered the voice coil to the pole vent and ripped it apart when they turned the car back on...heh heh...nothing like a $1300 sub blowing

    I guess I did some more reading into this and they measured it somewhere else and according to street beat customs it did 152 db on an audiocontrol (not the optimus thing in the car... wtf is optimus? the RS meter?)... it's pure publicity and I like how everyone is dogging it.

    Let's face it Pimp My Ride has to appeal to the masses not to the audio fans.

    Which is probably BS, although a sub that expensive should be capable of 165's.

    In the interest of kind- of, halfway looking like they know what they're doing they should have shown a more impressive number on the show. MTX should be embarrassed at that "debut" of the woofer.

    i think they were showing off the warning light at 100 dB, but you're right, there should have been a much bigger number there...

    no, it's nothing bad on mtx... like mac said, we now have about 100 posts discussing them, this is good for them...

    and you know how monty python animates god? when you said you weren't swinging from mtx's nuts, i got a really vivid visual of one of the nuns they draw swinging back and forth on god's nuts like tarzan on a vine... and this means that i need sleep...

    The PMR episode was possibly one of the best marketing ideas I've ever seen. Possibly better than Bose could have ever done...

    What better way to make the masses think MTX is just THE shiznit ya know? A big, 22" sub - 360 pounds... if MTX can produce something THAT "good" - then they must be the best right? To be on MTV and PMR... Wow! I'm gonna go buy it right now...

    Something tells me... that Jackhammer didnt cost them a dime... I bet MTX gave it to them on a silverplatter...

    It depends on the weather I guess. I check in everyday but when its spring or fall Im usually out doing stuff so Ill only check in once. When its effing cold or 900 degrees like it is now I dont want to go anywhere so Ill check in 3 or 4 times a day.

    Man I really hate this heat.

    I don't know if you've ever watched the show before, but they lick every company's balls. Whoever gave up the freebies (or probably paid to get the product placement) gets pumped up that time. "Holy **** Mad Mike, is that Audiobahn amp 10,000 watts?" "It sure is, this is THE BEST amp on the planet, until next episode when we use a different brand and ride them even harder."

    At least they don't charge people for **** up their cars. The show should only be watched for laughs.

    They do some cool stuff as far as customization goes but from an audio standpoint theyre kind of a joke.

    Nothing wrong with that statement.

    This sub is obviously geared toward big bass and hip hop style music and the majority of people that both listen to and produce that type music are black. There's nothing racist about that. Kind of like having an ad for The Grateful Dead and having nothing but a bunch of hippies in it or an ad for Slayer and having a bunch of headbangers.

    Why couldn't you tell me that earlier? Sure would've saved a lot of tears over a lot car's deaths. I haven't seen one thing from this show that I've liked. I'd pay to have the car in its before condition than get it in its after condition for free.
