and sometimes I hate them...

Had some stuff that looked like it was going to show up a day early- it was on the truck this AM. When I get home & it's not here, I check the status:

4:18 PM
At local FedEx facility
DURHAM, NC
Package not due for delivery

6:52 AM
On FedEx vehicle for delivery
DURHAM, NC

6:45 AM
At local FedEx facility
DURHAM, NC

WTF!!!!! I don't care if it's not due!!! If its on the f***ing truck, GIVE IT TO ME!!!

Call them and tell them that they screwed up and that you'll be home all night for them to drive it out to you on a special delivery.

No need to ask them if they will......tell them that they will.

You learn something new everyday... Never ran across that before.

Possibly they load more than can be done in a day's time and when time runs out "next day" items go back to the corral...
    More later,

I've gotten this a few times. I believe what the tracking is trying to tell you is that they loaded it on the truck, but that entire truck is not due to be sent out. Not that they're driving around w/ your package just because they don't feel like delivering it.

I'd relax a little... it will get to you eventually.

I don't like UPS even more. My speakers were out for delivery on the expected delivery date. I took off work early so that I would be there when they got there. Then all of a sudden at 5:30 pm the tracking switch to "internal code" and the delivery date was pushed to the next day. When I got the speakers there was a note on them that said "To heavy, delivery postponed". Here's a tip for ya, if you don't want to lift boxes......don't work for a shipping company!

The driver may have also hit the mandantory 10 hr. limit for the day, and as usual they had a manager drive the package car back to the hub, and didn't have another driver available to finish delivering all the packages. I have had UPS pull this stunt on me numerous times because my shop in IA is about 20 min. from the nearest town and they don't want to make the trip until late in the day, and then their hour limit is up.

I have send many things including my Lsi speakers fed ex. Right now I might be having a problem with my laser disk player I send out. I 'm not cool with that. I took out insurance but it's such a hassle to deal with.

I felt Fed ex was better then UPS, I had alot of problems with them. I don't use UPS at all. I still perfer fed Ex.

I've had this happen a few times: My package was on the truck for delivery, but the truck never showed up. The first time it happened, I called FedEx's 800 number and they explained that drivers are limited in the number of hours they can drive per day and that sometimes they run out of time before all packages are delivered. I was given the option of picking the package up at the terminal or having it delivered the next day. In the case of FedEx Ground service, if a package is not delivered on the day it is due, a customer can go to the terminal and pick it up until 9pm. Cutoff time is 7pm for FedEx express.
