The system is getting there. I have to build a shelf for the center channel as it doesn't sit well on the top of my tv.

    Heres a shot so far

    Airplay355,
does it sound as good as it looks?

Yes, nothing is broken in yeat and it already sounds excellent.

    Russ,
Yeah yeah I know. I gotta spend some time with my pics. I snap em and post em...LOL

I stayed up until 1am listening to my new system. I didn't even try a movie yet. Hell I don't have the center and sub connected . 2 channel is doing it for me.

I did however run a videogame in dolby digital (XboX) and the rears are fantastic. They hit hard and are incredibly clear. For years I like bi polar or Di polar type rears on the sides , but these 42W's fill really good. There so wide like the fronts do.

I'm gonna put some serious hours on it this weekend. It's the only downfall to buying new gear. The damn break in period.

I thought it was funny as all the talk about wire lately , both the Rotel manuals and the Dynaudio manuals stress the Importance of high quality wire. It was like the same dude wrote both manuals.
SPEAKER WIRE SELECTION (from the RMB1095's manual)
"Use insulated 2 conductor stranded wire to connect the RMB1095 to the speakers. The size and quality of the wires can have an audible effect on the performance of the system. Standard speaker wire will work, but can result in lower output or diminished bass response, particularly over longer distances. In general, heavier wire will improve the sound. For best performance, you may want to consider high quality speaker cables.Your Authorized Rotel dealer can help in the selection of the appropriate cables for your system."

CHOICE OF LOUDSPEAKER CABLE( from the Dynaudio manual)
"The impact a loudspeaker cable can have on sound quality may have a dramatic effect, though in general quality cable products will yield a quality result.
Dynaudio loudspeakers are designed to be very neutral and as such are not extremely suited to any particular type of cable. The choice of cable is as much a factor of matching the cable to the entire audio system. Please consult your Dynaudio dealer for information about compatitible loudspeaker cables that will suit both your electronics and the Audience loudspeakers.

Dan, are you sure you're not opening a demo room for Tweeter? ;)

Lookin' very sweet! cable next? I couldn't remember, what sub did you have? or plan to buy?

One of your comments in your Dyna 82 review about the bass quality on LSi15 strike a chord. Not until I paired my Rel with it, then it becomes obvious where the weakness of 15. Notice that I said quality, not quantity. Anyway, I am digressing, have fun with your system, I am sure I would if I were you!
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

    dholmes,
"mantis" isn't rich. I just know how to save for what I want and I'm willing to wait. The amp weighs in at 75lbs. It's a monster and I love the manly effect. It's so big and badass.

    polkatese,
waaaaaaaaaa no demo room here. My wife and I like the colors and hince the reason for the colors of my new system. The basement went on hold due to other things we want to do so I decided to make the best of it in my livingroom.
My next cables well for speaker wires anyway will be 8tc single runs terminated in Kimber or WBT spades or going for broke Monocle X for the front 3. I'm keeping the Heros, Kimber Powercords and Digital interconnects.
As far as the sub man, Rel all the way except for the demo I'm gonna have again for the sub500 from Dynaudio. That sub is suppost to be really good, so I gotta give it a chance. Rel has a new Storm and strata series in the 5. It now has a Mic for calibration. I also have to go check them out as we don't carry them anymore:(

    Looking awesome Dan.

Dynaudio's motto is "Danes don't lie." As you know I have a pair of 1.3mkII Contour bookshelf speakers. I found them to be very fussy with placement / matching gear and when I bought the new Transparents for them it took a long time to break the wires in. At first I was a little disappointed but finally the sound came around after a few weeks. I didn't play the system all of the time; just a few hours per day which made the breakin last longer.

With Dynaudio, every change one makes is audible to me. I did a shootout with Transparent Plus MM IC vs. Kimber Silver Streak. The Transparent definitely has the highs a little rolled off compared to the Silver Streaks but I like it that way better as the Contour tweeter on this model is pretty detailed. Just a personal preference for me.

The Danes are probably the best performers that I own right now. They do everything very good regardless of what you throw at them; jazz, rock, blues, alternative, classical, etc. Bass, mids, treble are all great and have wonderful balance / integration. I still prefer the midrange quality of my Spendors, but the Danes are not too far behind here.

I need to compare the Hero vs. the Silver Streak for you. Maybe I'll have some time this weekend.

    pjdami,
yes I remember you buying the 1.3's. They are fantastic Bookshelf speakers. Contour for home theater get way out of control not to mention I would have to go higher end on my electronics to support how good they are.

Transparent and Dynaudio seem to be made for each other. I have been kicking around the idea of going back to Transparent. I do however like KimberKable and can't wait to hear them on the Dyn's. If it sucks, they will be out of my system faster then they came in and I will make a call to the closest Transparent dealer for a complete re wire. I know exaclty how Rotel/Dyn's and Transparent sounds. It's what I fell in love with all those years ago.

I'll be looking for your review on the Hero's and Silver Steaks. I'm debating if I should use Silver Streaks for the seperates amp from Preamp. Then Probably go Silver Streaks all the way to keep perfect harmony. Expensive upgrade but if they sound better then the Hero's then I'm gonna have to consider it. I would love to conduct this vs battle myself.

    Airplay355,
I really never talk about price. If you go look into Retail prices on what I just bought, it's a pretty damn expensive upgrade and I'm nowhere close to being done. I got a long way to go. I'll tell you this, with selling my last system helped talk some of the load off. But my bank account still suffers it's burden. Visa has no place here and if I ran the visa bill up the wife would just shoot me and ask later....LOL. I try my very best to pay cash for all my upgrades. The Visa is to easy to kill it dead. And I would kill it dead.

    TroyD,
yes such a personal question needs to be handled as such.
