The "goal" to me , is to put yourself "in" the movie..without extremely loud levels..

I try to make everything powerful and full...at levels that you would normaly speak to someone in the same room...maybe a little louder..!!:D
okay maybe more than a little , but "believable levels, not insanely loud...you get my point..!

The sound is all around you, so when someone jacks a round into a .45 behind you in the movie...you will hear it behind you..

and I have actually looked behind me to see if someone was actually back there..!!

    gotta love it..

oh, and fronts are on A/B channels, so I have not noticed any cross talk... yet

    As cool as that looks,

Why not have higher quality speakers , wire and amps inplace of all those speakers?

I think with proper setup , you can gain what your looking for without have to use multiple speakers for each channel.

But thats just my opnion, rock on my man,

What do you mean when you say that the "fronts are on A/B channels"? Are you able to use your zone2 capabilities iin your receiver/integrated and how do you then calibrate the "b" setting since it is separate from the "A"?

Reason I am asking is that I have two channels on my receiver that I am not using at all, but I would really like to do so. I am currently having to run one set of fronts using normal high level speaker outs, and the second set of fronts using the two dedicated preamp outs for L/R mains.

I would really like to understand how I can use those two last channels in my 7ch receiver. It is currently a NAD T773 so I have plenty of power. I was thinking actually of hooking up the speaks in parallell since the 4ohm load wouldn't be too bad, but it would be even better if I could use the 6th and 7th channel for fronts as well during movies.

    mantis ,

besides the cool factor, I also have to justify to the wife why so many speaks...besides just being a freak...
    so far not working well..!!

The 55`s seem to add the mid`s that the 2000`s lack...
    they blend very well
The rest of it is because I can..!!

    francis1967 ,
    I will PM you later...

I have a Yamaha RX-V795 AVR, it`s about 7yrs old and runnin strong..DD/DTS, and all the other options...although I only use the DD & DTS..

On the front it has two buttons...speaker A and speaker B
THe 55`s are on speaker A
THe 2000`s are on Speaker B
The center is of course on center channel
the rears are on the rear chanels
    sub out for the SVS
becuase I have two sets of speaks on the rear I run the two off an outboard Rotel...

The AVR does not support 4 ohm , so I have to incorperate the Rotels for the 4 ohm speaks...they are waiting for more I/C`s to arrive before they can all be hooked up..
